The next Northern Fairfield Professionals (NFP) meeting on Tuesday, February
10th.

Our guest speaker Tara Alemany will present on "The Power of Networking"

NFP is where people meet to expand their network connections, as well as
learn the tools needed to advance their careers. Business professionals from
all industries and career levels are welcome to attend our monthly meetings.

Our philosophy is to build reciprocal relationships where business
professionals can exchange ideas, job leads, and build networking skills.

We usually have a guest speaker discuss a topic of interest for business
professionals.

Northern Fairfield Professionals (NFP) meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month
from 5:30 - 8 pm. Attendance to NFP is free.

Networking from 5:30-6:00pm with a speaker presentation from 6:00pm to 7:30.
Networking until 8 pm.

Location: The Knights of Columbus building at Saint Rose in Newtown CT,
located at 46 Church Hill Road; behind Saint Rose church to the far left.

Please go in the entrance for Saint Rose church and drive in back of the
church to the far left.

The building has 3 garage doors on the first floor with the meeting room
upstairs.

The entrance is the door on the left front of the building.

Job Summary

Seeking an individual that is WILLING & ABLE to TEST, but someone who can
potentially lead as well. Looking for 5 to 7 years of experience!
Responsibilities The candidate will be part of the System Test department
within Software Product Development. The position is to perform the duties
of a System Test Engineer. These responsibilities include designing a test
strategy document, writing test cases, holding test case reviews, executing
test cases, logging defects into the Clear Quest defect tracking tool,
following up on the defects until resolution, hold defect review meetings,
entering test results into the TRA tool and holding test results meetings.
This individual will also be responsible for determining all
software/hardware requirements that are necessary for them to perform their
day-to-day activities and to accomplish the project objectives. They are
also responsible for the creation, maintenance and backup of all their test
data.

Overview

Our client is seeking a MySQL Database Administrator who will maintain,
monitor, tune, troubleshoot and support existing MySQL database environments
for production, staging, QA and development. The DBA will manage database
security, disaster recovery, and capacity planning; architect database
schemas and layouts and monitor and ensure 24x7x365 databases availability
and stable operation.

This is a fulltime employee position in Midtown Manhattan, NYC

Skills, Abilities & Knowledge:

. BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience;

. Extensive hands on experience (4+ years) in database
administration;

. Experience with MySQL, replication, clustering, query optimization
and tuning;

. Proven track record of troubleshooting and resolving database
problems;

. Skilled in performance tuning and optimization, using native
monitoring and troubleshooting tools;

. Proficient with backup, restore and recovery models;

. Knowledge of High Availability and Disaster Recovery options;
