Overview

Our client is seeking a Data Visualization/Mining Systems Engineer who will
be responsible for ensuring 24x7 availability for critical systems;
participate in the strategic planning of the application middleware servers;
troubleshoot and resolve performance; perform day-to-day administrative
tasks.

This person will be responsible for managing the implementation, maintenance
and enforcement of effective industry standard processes and policies within
our QA, DEV and Production environments.

Will partner with Architecture teams to provide the best technology
recommendations/solutions for business critical processes and be involved in
the design process with DBA, Apps Dev, and other technical teams to
implement solutions. This person will liaise with managers and staff of
Apps Dev to ensure consistent application of the tactical and strategic
directions for the organization.

This is a 9 month contract to hire position based in Trumbull, CT. Has
potential to be located in Stamford, CT as well.

Skills and Requirements

* Bachelor's degree (Computer Science preferred)
* 7+ years experience in Operations Support with increasing levels of
responsibility.
* Authoritative knowledge of data visualization, data mining software
such as Tableau, Endeca (highly preferred) Operations and Internals; OBIEE
also considered
* Installation and operational knowledge of Oracle Middleware
Applications (i.e., Oracle Business Intelligence, SOA, Weblogic etc.) is
preferred
* Expertise with architecture design, capacity planning, performance
tuning, back-up and recovery, and 24/7 operational support, in a large-scale
enterprise environment with high availability
* Strong administration skills and experience on multiple platforms
(Windows / Linux)
* Strong server-side scripting skills (i.e. Python, Jython, shell,
Groovy, etc)
* Operational documentation skills for steady-state application
support and DR/BCP testing
* Experience with enterprise management and monitoring tools (i.e.
OEM, TCat) is desired
* Good judgment, prompt decision-making ability, responsibility and
accountability
* Commitment to teamwork as both a contributor and a leader
* Excellent communication, analytical, organizational and
problem-solving skills

Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Windows Server Engineer to work on special projects and to provide administrative and technical support for a large, virtual Windows Server environment, i.e., perform design tasks and develop components of technical architecture; work with other engineers to identify, troubleshoot, resolve and remediate Tier 2 and Tier 3 issues identified with deployed services and provide relevant documentation to facilitate maintenance.

This 6-month contract position is located in Cheshire, CT

Skills and Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree (Computer Science, Software Engineering or relevant field)

* 7+ years' experience required

* Must have advanced skill level of Windows Server 2008 and 2012 Operating Systems and components in a large corporate environment.

* Active Directory Name Resolution Services (DNS & WINS)

* DHCP High Availability and Clustered configurations

* Patch Management

* Knowledge of NetApp SAN and NAS storage devices. (Flexpod)

* Knowledge of IBM xiv SAN and servers including blade enclosures.

* Knowledge of Cisco UCS blade servers.

* Knowledge of backup tools (preferably NetBackup).

* Advanced experience supporting VMware5.5 and Citrix 6.5.

* Disaster Recovery support knowledge.

* Excellent customer and communication skills and ability to collaborate with MIS teams to troubleshoot infrastructure or business application issues.
