The group leaders are John F. Carvelli, Janelle Razzino and Gary Gabaccia. John and Janelle are both parishioners at St. John's. Janelle is an Executive Recruiter located in Westwood, New Jersey and Gary is a former Recruiting Leader for IBM and a parishioner at Our Lady Mother of the Church. This is a job search network group that is suitable for everyone in transition. The group will discuss networking, landing the job on the first interview, new ideas for resume campaigns, identifying target companies, changing careers and a whole host of other topics. The group will meet on the second Wednesday of every month in the Sheen Room of the Parish Center.
The Career Resource Ministry will present guest speakers on such topics as boosting your confidence and energy, creating a positive daily attitude, meeting others in a network group for the exchange of valuable insights, helping others to help each other and successfully overcoming the speed bumps that afflict everyone's job campaign.
Please feel free to forward this note to ANYONE that you think would benefit from joining us. Or, better yet, just bring them with you! Everyone is welcome, and each month we try to cover a range of topics suitable to anyone in transition, including networking, resume preparation, interviewing and variety of others. Overview
Our client is seeking a Data Visualization/Mining Systems Engineer who will
be responsible for ensuring 24x7 availability for critical systems;
participate in the strategic planning of the application middleware servers;
troubleshoot and resolve performance; perform day-to-day administrative
tasks.
This person will be responsible for managing the implementation, maintenance
and enforcement of effective industry standard processes and policies within
our QA, DEV and Production environments.
Will partner with Architecture teams to provide the best technology
recommendations/solutions for business critical processes and be involved in
the design process with DBA, Apps Dev, and other technical teams to
implement solutions. This person will liaise with managers and staff of
Apps Dev to ensure consistent application of the tactical and strategic
directions for the organization.
This is a 9 month contract to hire position based in Trumbull, CT. Has
potential to be located in Stamford, CT as well.
Skills and Requirements
* Bachelor's degree (Computer Science preferred)
* 7+ years experience in Operations Support with increasing levels of
responsibility.
* Authoritative knowledge of data visualization, data mining software
such as Tableau, Endeca (highly preferred) Operations and Internals; OBIEE
also considered
* Installation and operational knowledge of Oracle Middleware
Applications (i.e., Oracle Business Intelligence, SOA, Weblogic etc.) is
preferred
* Expertise with architecture design, capacity planning, performance
tuning, back-up and recovery, and 24/7 operational support, in a large-scale
enterprise environment with high availability
* Strong administration skills and experience on multiple platforms
(Windows / Linux)
* Strong server-side scripting skills (i.e. Python, Jython, shell,
Groovy, etc)
* Operational documentation skills for steady-state application
support and DR/BCP testing
* Experience with enterprise management and monitoring tools (i.e.
OEM, TCat) is desired
* Good judgment, prompt decision-making ability, responsibility and
accountability
* Commitment to teamwork as both a contributor and a leader
* Excellent communication, analytical, organizational and
problem-solving skills

Overview
Our client is seeking an Application Support and Training Specialist to conduct and arrange for specialized, on-the-job training for new employees as it relates to the use of computerized systems. The Application Support and training specialist will also deliver classroom training and support for MS Office applications.
This is a 5-month contract in Cheshire, CT
Skills and Qualifications:
* 5 to 8 years providing training for enterprise class applications
* Must be an expert and have direct training experience with the entire 2010 MS Office suite which includes: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio, and Project; Skype and Sharepoint; SAP, Microsoft CRM and SalesForce.com would be beneficial
* Ability to learn fast and conduct project specific training
* Requires broad knowledge of online training systems, curriculum creation, and classroom settings.
* Must have experience guiding individuals on the successful use of audio/video conferencing solutions including Unified Communications platforms such as Microsoft Lync / Skype for Business
* Experience working with Internet-based training, multimedia programs, distance learning, satellite training, or other computer-aided instructional technologies, videos, simulators, conferences, and workshops.
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
* Microsoft Training Certification (MCT) preferred.
