Bob,

Thanks for the invite below.  I'll be out of town so I will not be able to attend.  Can I get a copy of Marty's presentation?  Or can you provide Marty's contact info?
I'd like to see if he would be willing to do his presentation with my outplacement firm.  They have offices in NYC and Stamford, CT and are always looking for good guest speakers.

Let me know.  Thanks so much.

Christine

When you attend a networking or business meeting, are you successful in promoting yourself? Are you unsure of the best ways to do this or would you like to improve your technique? Do you leave the meeting feeling that you really accomplished something? If you would like to improve your networking skills and are ready to learn about "working the room", you should attend TCN's meeting on December 27th.

TCN's December 27th meeting will feature an invigorating presentation by master networker Marty Latman, entitled:

"WORKING THE ROOM"

Called by some people the "best networker they know," Marty will present the basic tools you need to use to land the position you want.

My client, Longview Fibre (www.longfibre.com <http://www.longfibre.com/> )
is looking to hire an IT Operations Manager for their headquarters in
Longview. WA. This area of the Pacific Northwest provides an optimal
setting - near metro Portland, OR and Vancouver, WA and 2.5 hours south of
Seattle, WA. The cost of living is very reasonable and the quality of life
is very high.

Longview Fibre is a dynamic, progressive and growing company and this is a
key position for the organization. Relocation assistance will be provided.
I wanted to network with you to see if this position might be of interest to
you or to someone else to whom you might be able to refer me. Any
assistance in my search efforts would be very helpful and greatly
appreciated. Longview is eager to fill this position as soon as possible.
Following is some background on the company and position. In advance, I
look forward to hearing from you.

Longview Fibre Paper and Packaging, Inc. produces light-weight, multiwall
and complimentary specialty kraft papers for an established domestic and
global customer base. The company also produces containerboard and
corrugated boxes. Longview operates a pulp and paper mill at Longview, WA,
and a network of seven converting plants in the western United States.

Our pulp and paper mill is strategically located in Longview, WA, close to
several export ports and with ready access to Interstate 5, two rail lines
and on-site barge traffic. Our facilities include one of the
highest-capacity and most diverse paper mills in North America, and a
network of well-equipped corrugated container plants in four Western states.
We manufacture more than 70 grades of kraft paper and containerboard, and
supply a broad range of corrugated packaging and solid fibre slip sheets.
We supply our products to 35 countries worldwide.

But our strength isn't just in our numbers or in our equipment, or even in
our eight decades of experience. It's in our passion. Our people. Our
capabilities. Our dedication to our craft, customers and planet. Small
wonder some customer relationships span more than 50 years.

Summary:

The IT Operations Manager will manage the corporate computer operations
infrastructure. Responsibilities include 24X7 operational support of
corporate computer services. Proactively monitor performance of the

applications downtime to a minimum by making sure all reported technical
incidents are addressed in the shortest time possible. This individual will
track and implement technologies aligned with Longview Fibre's long term
