Position Summary:
The Application Teams utilize a centralized development Database Engineering
team to support its ongoing development initiatives and provide day-to-day
system support. This Lead Systems Engineer function will specialize in
offering database engineering support to application development teams.
This individual will meet regularly with project managers and development
teams and their management to understand their day-to-day and strategic
long-term needs. This will be "hands on position" with opportunities to
experiment and learn new technologies. This position will also provide
input and assistance to Data Architecture and Production Support Database
Administrators.

This position will present opportunities to manage small teams and growth in
leadership areas both technical and non-technical. Provide thought
leadership and partner with developers to iteratively deliver applications
that are critical to the business.

Key Responsibilities;

· Work closely with IS developers located globally at all levels of
the organization to provide support for existing applications and
proactively identify opportunities for new/improved systems.
· Partner with in-house data experts and implement systems
requirements.
· Uphold database standards, perform database design reviews, where
applicable and ensure DBA practices adhere to firm guidelines
· Perform gap analysis and facilitate remediation efforts
· Plan and manage small and medium-sized internal support projects.
· Work with clients to set expectations, prioritize needs and
provide communication to keep them apprised of progress.

Keys to this Position:

1. This position is a Lead Oracle Database Engineer. The individual
will have strong experience with Oracle 11g as an Engineer as well as prior
experience with 9i and 10g. This individual will be very strong technically
with data engineering solutions. This person will have solid knowledge of
many of the new features of 11g (such as data change notification,
compression, reorganizational features, etc.) This is not an Infrastructure
DBA.
2. We will also look at any Oracle Resource (Engineer or DBA) that has
his/her OCM (Oracle Certified Masters) or OCP (Oracle Certified
Professional).

3. Strong experience with PL/SQL programming and its new features.
Strong PL/SQL performance and tuning, Oracle 11g Optimizer and Oracle
Internals experience is also required.
4. We are seeking Leadership skills as well. Initially this person
will operate as an individual contributor but the goal is to assume
responsibility of leading a team of 10 plus engineers.
5. Strong Client Relationship skills are required. This individual
will partner with Development teams and have the ability to understand
business concepts.
6. Person needs to come out of either a financial services environment
or some other large, complex, 24X&7 Mission Critical environment – 50 +
Oracle Production Databases – Several hundred Unix & Windows Servers –
Global in Nature.

Required Skills and Competencies:

· Minimum 8 years experience as an Oracle Database
Engineer/Developer supporting large application development life cycles on
LINUX and UNIX/Solaris
· Strong understanding of Oracle data dictionary and how it applies
to applications written against Oracle
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
· Strong PL/SQL programming skills
· Strong understanding of Oracle database security
· Strong understanding of Oracle Internals (Memory, Dictionary,
Optimizer, etc)
· Strong understanding Oracle 11g new features in the context of
application enhancement
· Strong understanding of Oracle 11g optimizer and differences
between older versions
· Experience in PL/SQL and SQL code tuning
· Strong "Client" focus while working with application development
teams
· Strong technical and people leadership skills
· Proven multi-tasking experience across multiple simultaneous
initiatives
· Experience supporting Applications Development teams working on
multiple development projects
· Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to a fast-paced
dynamic environment
· Experience in advanced technologies such as gateways, streams,
partitioning, queuing, replication…etc.
· Experience in transforming a logical data model to a physical data
model
· Strong understanding of database object types such as tables,
indexes, pl/sql, types, sequences, synonyms...etc.
· Excels in critical thinking
· Strong knowledge of Oracle utilities and tools such as sqlplus,
sql loader, OEM, GRID, OCM…etc
· Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline

integral member of the development team responsible for developing the Firm'
s next generation Equity Trading System.

3. Financial Services, Trading Systems, or similar experience is a big
plus.
4. Must come out of an environment that has similar complexities to

Required Skills and Competencies:

The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills and proven
ability to design and deliver solutions relevant to complex business

· Four years of .net development experience using C#

Summary:

This position is responsible for managing the Eagle Star Product Support
team in support of the Fund Accounting Business. This person must be
capable of managing teams in a high-energy situation, requiring split-second
decision making, and excellent follow through. This is a Help Desk type
role, but for a Fund Accounting application. Must have experience managing a
support function for Fund Accounting Application.

This same person must also be capable of setting a strategic direction for
the support organization, coordinating with the business and product
development to create an integrated vision for product support.

The candidate will also be responsible for developing MIS reporting and
group performance metrics, and for developing training programs for the on
boarding of new support personnel and also for the training of CSG teams.

Required Skills and Competencies:

· Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience.
· Previous Support Management experience running a small team –
Hands on & engaged.
· 8+ years supporting Fund Accounting Systems – Required.
· An intimate knowledge of fund accounting, & a detailed
understanding of the workings of these type of systems – Required – Client
uses the Eagle Star product.
· The ability to create a close working relationship with internal
user groups & key vendors.
· Working knowledge of the technologies involved in Fund Accounting
(ORACLE, UNIX, PL/SQL, C++).
· This person must be knowledgeable, and decisive.
· This individual must also be a strategic thinker capable of
setting a direction for the product support function.
