I'm currently hiring for a key opening with my Management Resources practice here in Paramus and really need a dynamic individual. I think you know by now what the culture is like here at Robert Half. This is very much a Business Development role blended with a Recruiting focus. Our client is seeking an Oracle DBA with experience managing moderate to large data warehouses. This 4-month contract-to-hire opportunity is in support of a project to migrate a data warehouse from Oracle 10g to 11g.
The project is in the Montvale, New Jersey area. (Note: alternative location in Flanders, NJ)
In addition to a BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or related field of study, the successful candidate will have 5+ years managing Oracle databases in a moderate to large data warehouse environments (2-20 TB range).
Major responsibilities, working under the guidance of a Senior Project DBA, include:
* Development of database migration strategies, approaches, and contingency plans.
* Creation of database migration mappings, scripts, transformations, and test plans.
* Creation, monitoring, and maintenance of various environments to support the migration planning, build, and execution stages (sandbox, development, test, QA, training, etc).
* Support the creation and maintenance of metadata, data dictionaries, and data models.
* Work collaboratively with project resources to execute tasks and troubleshoot errors for quick resolution.
* Participate in the resolution of complex performance issues or enterprise failures involving critical business processes. Help to provide root cause analysis and recommended solutions.
Candidates will possess the following qualifications to be considered for these roles:
* Demonstrated experience working within an Oracle 11g data warehouse environment including Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) and Oracle Active Data Guard are required.
* Experience will include installation, configuration, patching, upgrading, database recovery, database optimization and tuning.
* Experience with the following technologies is desirable:
* Oracle Exadata appliances
* UNIX
* Demonstrated ability to work on complex technical requirements and deliver projects with mission critical deadlines.
* Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve database and system issues.
* Must have excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as strong executive presence.
* Must be able to work effectively in an open, team environment with minimal guidance from manager.
