Pfizer Pharmaceuticals – Madison, NJ – 1 Year Contract PWR 7307 - Database Analyst Summary: The candidate will be basically helping to define requirements from a reporting standpoint. Manager is seeking candidates with heavy experience with Excel, Access, and Oracle. Pfizer is currently transitioning to Oracle 11g database, so a candidate with previous experience with Oracle is ideal. Candidate needs to have good communication skills as he/she will be interacting with customers 20% of the time, and then 80% will be spent working on reports and working with the offshore team with any complex reporting. The candidate needs to have a good balance of business knowledge and technical skills. In 2013, Pfizer is looking to move in a new direction by developing dashboards and building on top of the Oracle 11g. DESCRIPTION: · Utilizes analytical reporting tools to track, report and analyze sales & marketing information; Works with Sales & Marketing personnel directly to develop integral reports on sales, speaker programs, samples utilization, sales force call activity, and other data analysis requests. · Manages the low-level details while being able to quickly, consistently, and accurately consolidate the information to assist in management decision making; Interprets corporate guidelines for specific accounting treatment for project cost and makes recommendations and maintains appropriate documentation. · Works well with project managers and program executives in a cross functional and global environment. RESPONSIBILITIES: · Understands and analyzes business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements and recommends solutions that enable the organization to achieve its goals; · Partners with senior leadership in the development of business strategies and business process reorganization; · Works as a liaison among stakeholders in order to elicit, analyze, document, communicate, and validate business needs and requirements for changes to business processes, policies, and information systems; Analyzes, models, optimizes, documents and implements business processes and process flows, information and information flows and business rules; · Develops, writes and communicates business requirements (including functional specifications) for use in the design and implementation of business solutions; · Ensures that requirements are implemented in the final product; · Liaises with technical resources, third party suppliers and internal managers; · Promotes business change & IT risk management assuring that IT meets its business, legal and regulatory compliance obligations. SKILLS NEEDED: · Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Access is a necessity; Familiarity with Oracle Business Intelligence reporting tools (OBIEE), specifically Oracle 11g; · Must be comfortable working with large data files and extracts to create user-friendly reports; Familiarity with basic database concepts for the purposes of streamlining data processing for reporting is also a must; · Must be comfortable or familiar with working in OLAP reporting/data extraction environments.
