Our client, Regeneron, is currently seeking a Research IT Business Analyst—Laboratory for a 6 month contract in Tarrytown, NY.

The successful candidate will be responsible for analysis and solution definition for Research Information Technology Projects. They will work closely with IT management and the scientific/laboratory community to identify business/process requirements and translate them into technical specifications. (This is not an entry-level position) Ideally 5 years+ of experience in Pharmaceutical or Biotech environment.

Responsibilities:

* Quickly understand the business issues and data challenges of client's organization.
* Identify client organization's strengths and weaknesses and suggests areas of improvement according to functionality of applications.
* Prepare requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations.
* Evaluate user requirements and propose optimal solutions (ie. `buy or build`).
* Will work closely with IT management and the clients to identify and specify business requirements and processes in diverse development platforms, computing environments (e.g., host based, distributed systems, client server), software, hardware, technologies and tools.
* Reviews the functionality of business systems to ensure that it continues to satisfy users varying needs

Experience:

* Ideally 5 years+ of experience in a fast growing Biotech environment.
* 2-3 years of experience in gathering requirements and business analysis.
* Corporate IT Project Management experience on various projects a plus.
* Programming experience is a plus, as well as experience programming with Ruby.
* A demonstrated ability in creation of requirements and design documents and test scripts.
* Must be competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of system design and implementation.
* Must understand the components of running a fiscally successful project.
* Demonstrable experience implementing MOSS based solutions a strong plus.
