Position Responsibilities – Summary
As member of the Client Applications team, this individual will be
responsible for leading the analysis and project management of the firm's
Client Reporting and related platforms. This role requires a well-rounded
technologist that can work with both internal and external stakeholders to
build consensus on vision and then materially lead high visibility projects
through to implementation.
This multi-faceted role offers the individual the opportunity to have
tremendous impact on a number of multi-channel, reporting initiatives. The
candidate would also be joining the group at a point at which they will have
significant direct impact on the evolution of our DW/BI and Reporting
Application/Services platforms.
The candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to assimilate technical
concepts quickly, manage multiple competing priorities and communicate and
coordinate effectively across all levels of the firm, partner and vendor
landscapes.
Responsibilities:
· Own the business outcomes associated with large-scale technology
projects for the group from end to end
· Work with Business and IS Stakeholders to qualify business needs
and outcomes and develop plans & budgets that are managed throughout the
lifecycle.
· Work with engineers, analysts, consultants and vendors to
collaboratively solve problems and deliver solutions
· Assimilate new technical and functional challenges to command
control of the outcome and project teams as needed
· Translate business needs into detailed business and technical
requirements and assist in the development of specifications and design
· Provide oversight for the various phases of testing and user
acceptance
· Ensure adherence to established standards and processes while
proactively highlighting opportunities for improvement
· Work across teams - such as with middleware, database, and
architecture teams to coordinate design and implementation activities
· Advocate for the end user at all times and proactively manages
risk, impact and user experience at all times
Required Skills and Competencies:
· Proven expertise in managing complex technology projects in a
mission critical, matrix organization
· Proven planning and analysis skills following a standardized
methodology such as Agile
· Track record of working with business stakeholders, engineers,
analysts, and infrastructure teams to complete and deliver projects
· Experience in core project management skills including plan
development, risk and budget management, team building and leadership
· 10+ years of proven experience delivering successful projects
· Proven ability to support multiple competing priorities
simultaneously
· Demonstrated experience in Financial services, including FS data,
instrument representations and reporting
· Must be self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal
supervision
· Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
· Experience with large-scale complex technical projects
· Experience with reporting/ client reporting a strong plus
Keys to this Position:
1. Domain knowledge: Must have strong experience with Investment Data.
The ideal candidate will have experience with Data Warehousing, Business
Intelligence and Client Reporting tools.
2. Strong Systems Analysis skills are required (gathering requirements,
writing functional specs, UAT, implementations, etc.)
3. Leadership skills: This individual will manage a team of approx. 6
consultants.
4. Excellent communication skills are required. This individual will
interface with the business as well as vendors.
