How many times have you been looking for a job and felt like it was a nightmare? The recruiter never calls you back, the job boards feel like a black hole, the job descriptions are vague, etc. Then, you finally get an interview but you're not so sure what to expect or how to be?
We've all been there before. It's frustrating. Thankfully, there are some simple tips and tricks to ensure that - a) your resume is getting in front of the hiring manager & b) you are well prepared once you are at the interview.
In this presentation, Emily Juricek will discuss:
- The most effective ways to work with agencies/recruiters
- A "behind the scenes" look at how the process works on our end
- Resume writing, including formatting tips, keywords, and how to effectively "sell" your experience by your resume
- How to get your resume in front of the hiring manager
- General interview etiquette tips
- Prepping for challenging questions (including examples from recent BA interviews)
- Closing the interview (good questions to ask/how to get next steps/thank you emails)
We're meeting at Microsoft, at their new location, 11 Times Square, but please note actual entrance is on the 8th Avenue, across from Port Authority, between 41st and 42nd streets. All attendees must enter through the Microsoft Welcome Center with a state issued I.D. where they will be directed to the 5th floor.
We hope you can make it!
Cheers,
IIBA New York City Chapter
