Job Title: Business OutSourcing Manager (Contract NYC)
 
Job Description:

Work with vendors / IT managers to streamline and facilitate the Global Sourcing Solutions Desk (GSSD) process.
Manage relationships with specific customer groups by providing regional client interface, reviewing and managing pipeline, and continuously promoting adoption of GSSD process.
Guide IT managers through their outsourcing decisions to ensure alignment  and delivery of the appropriate outsourcing strategy based on the IT CoE Mandate.
Lead RFPs – review and provide input on vendor proposals, provide IT Managers with detailed analysis to facilitate the decision-making process.
Guide, review, and provide input to stakeholders on the requirements for the Migration Planning Process (MPP).
Liaise with IT Managers to obtain the appropriate signoffs from LCD, IT Risk, HR, and the various stakeholders. Interact with appropriate stakeholders for execution of MPP.
Ensure MPP compliance and work with Audit for any outstanding issues.
Conduct periodic benchmarking and market research to continuously deliver innovative sourcing options.
Manage jointly with IT managers the transformation initiatives, and share responsibility for achievement of the targets of the program.
Support project planning, scheduling, monitoring, and reporting activities for deployments.
 Qualifications:
Business Experience:
-Solid consulting and/or outsourcing experience
-Experience in dealing with Senior Management and stakeholders
-Supporting organizational transformation in a global environment
-Project management support working in distributed teams
-Ability to understand and be a trusted advisor to the customer base and act like a SME for Global Delivery Model
-Solid knowledge of IT
-Strong abilities with MS Office

About 6 weeks ago I assumed a new position as CFO for Lutheran Social Services of NY (lssny.org). One of my first (among many) initiatives is to hire a strong Controller to help implement change thoughout the Finance operation and to help manage a complex and diverse set of social services programs and government contracts. GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Controller directs the daily and ongoing functions in the Finance organization including monthly closings, financial reporting, internal controls, financial operations and contract billing and compliance. The Controller organizes all agency audits including those required by funding agencies as well as by audit firm. S/he will assist in the development of agency and contract budget and will be responsible for appropriate record-keeping to monitor performance and maximize contract billings.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
• Direct financial operations for a $25 MM agency with a complex network of companies and funding contracts. Organize monthly closing operations to provide timely and meaningful financial reporting to senior management, board of directors and funding sources.
• Implement strong system of internal controls that minimizes risk of misappropriation of funds, enhances our ability to comply with contract audits, and effectively measures the cost of procedures with the value added to the organization.
• Develop deep understanding of all agency funding contracts and perform ongoing review of internal cost reports to ensure that departments are working within budgeted resources and that the agency is maximizing its billings under various grant contracts, limits and regulation.
• Work closely with management team to foster strong relationships between Finance and agency staff. Meet regularly with management colleagues to review financial reports and work through issues of mutual importance.
• Ensure all agency billings are done timely each period with all appropriate reports filed and compliance items meet to receive timely payments from funders.
• Effectively manage and project operational cash flows. Ensure Accounts Payable is paying invoices in appropriate priority order as cash flow is available to do so.
• Organize semi-monthly payroll process to ensure speedy collection of time transactions and processing of payroll information and payment processing.
• Lead annual budget and periodic forecasting process.
• Assess current and available technologies and leverage existing technologies for additional operational efficiencies. Implement new technologies as appropriate for operational effectiveness.
• Various Special Projects as assigned.

SUPERVISES:
• Two Accounting Managers and support staff.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, CPA and MBA preferred, but not required.

EXPERIENCE:
• At least 5 years experience in accounting leadership, preferably in non-profit, social services environment, heavily involved with government contracts.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• In addition to being a superior accounting technician, the Controller will be a strong communicator, with both the written and oral skills to work effectively with finance staff, agency management and staff and external constituents.
• Strong knowledge of computer applications and how they bring efficiencies into financial and agency operations.
• A leader in implementing positive change to the agency.
