Position Title: IT Project Manager

The Information Technology Project Manager for Valeant will be responsible for the delivery of IT projects to Valeant. They manage the relationship, information gathering and dissemination, document population, analysis and tasks management in accordance to approved objectives and standards.

Responsibilities:

Application Development and life cycle
• Maintain two-way communication to: anticipate, cultivate and motivate effective utilization of current inventory of application, hardware and services; adhere to approved relevant standards and policies; cost justify new IT acquisition of goods and services; and manage delivery of automated solutions and associated process engineering.
• Remain knowledgeable of Client business process, application functionality, process issues and ongoing changes in business need to proactively support and influence IT involved solutions.
• Identify the appropriate documents required; the source for input and the audience; and plan and execute the accurate authoring, approval, dissemination and storage of knowledge base documents to support a final solution match with approved requirements.

• Take ownership and responsibility for: client relationship management; planning, maintain scope and schedule; completing documents; communicating and escalation of risks and issues; measuring and reporting of results; adherence to approved project methodology and standards; and effective utilization of Valeant resources.
• Contribute to the organization by coaching, mentoring, and sharing knowledge and skills. Contribute to evolution of Valeant systems development methodology, processes, project management standards, and general process improvements.
• Maintain Joint Advisory Workgroup meetings (business representatives up to Director level) to support a pro-active approach to Business automation needs, prioritization, resource allocation, work approval and monitoring.
• Participate, and if appropriate chair and coordinate assigned meetings including: discovery, storyboarding, analysis workshops, review, and change control; re-occurring type such as project status, sponsor, and one-on-one performance meetings; and provide accurate and timely distribution of minutes, weekly updated project plans and weekly status reports in accordance with standards to Project teams including executive sponsors.
• Coordinate, identify and engage all the appropriate people for gathering and analysis of sufficient and accurate information to meet the objectives and populate the required documents.
• Populate, and coordinate the approval and management of all required documents such as: prioritized listings for projects and changes; project proposal and evaluation; charter; requirements, design, and implementation documents; test plan, scripts, deficiency, remediation and validation documents; status reports, project plans, issues log, and change control forms; vendor solicitation, proposal evaluation and vendor audit documents; lessons learned and project closure report.
• Establishing project plans, budget, and associated resource and timeline needs, coordinating closely with other project and organization managers to appropriately share resources and report against them.
• Manage the change control process to ensure assessment of impacts to financial, schedule, scope, quality, and compliance/legal areas.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships across all organizational areas involved in a quality solution delivery including Client business unit, IT business units, Legal Services, Finance, Quality Assurance, Internal Audit, and Compliance at VP level and below.
• Maintain document management and control within an online folder for all project management artifacts, including: project plan; financial tracking/records; compliance records; artifact signoffs; meeting minutes; issues and risk logs, closing documentation
• Immediately and effectively escalate critical issues and effect strategies for their timely resolution.
• Provide technical assistance in the evaluation of proposals submitted by vendors and/or potential partners of a project or program.
Qualifications:
• Must demonstrate excellent leadership skills, communication skills, analytical ability, good judgment and management skills.
• Must demonstrate ability to interact effectively with clients and IT management and staff.
• Strong capabilities using Microsoft Project, Visio and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
• A Bachelor's degree.
• PMP certification or equivalent is strongly preferred.
• Strong international project management and business system analysis skills and track record, as well as solid people management skills
• Required superior and effective communications skills, both oral and written. Able to produce, and lead production of clear, understandable documentation geared for a wide range of appropriate audiences. Required to be able to present compelling cases to sponsors and executive management. Required to be able to understand and solve technically related project issues.
• Detail oriented and focused on customer service: highly-organized, able to manage multiple high-profile projects, and able to perform under the stress of a deadline-driven environment
• Excellent decision-making abilities. Considers all relevant information and data to make informed decisions, and ensures continuous improvement.
• Ability to solve problems as they arise and make decisions based on priorities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in relationship management, facilitation, negotiations, influence, problem and conflict resolution, and diplomacy.
• Solid understanding of developmental technologies (programming languages, databases, middleware), project management techniques and tools, and experience with managing both clients and vendors
• Strong project management and business systems analysis skills are required: strong scope & change management, project plan development/maintenance, risk management, communications including strong negotiating skills, strong leadership, and effective meeting management skills.
• Ability to work unsupervised and conduct independent reviews of project plans, requirements, implementation approach, business strategies, business plans and processes, risk assessments, and prepare analyses and reports of findings and recommendations.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, professional and technical staff and other related activities of the area
• Strong process development and documentation skills.
• Ability to travel (North America) about 10% of the time
Previous Experience:
• More than 5 years experience in an IT project management role.
• More than 5 years experience in performing business systems analysis duties.
• Experience in medium to large Information Technology department of a competitive corporate business or medium to large pharmaceutical enterprise.
