The Program Manager leads major business and transformation programs, shapes vision, and ensures that business strategies are effectively being addressed. The role is accountable for ensuring solutions solve business needs and can be completed within the approved program budget and schedule commitments while meeting required quality and compliance standards. Focus areas include stakeholder management (varies by organization) risk management and delivery of business benefit. This role is also required to follow established project management standards and drives/supports enhancement of the project/program management capability.
Major Duties and Responsibilities :
* Work with Relationship Manager (RM), SDD Associate Director (AD) and Business Sponsors to establish the program vision and realization approach ensuring technical solutions fit with MedImmune architecture roadmap
* Oversee and approve plans for programs, including activities, resources, costs, roles, responsibilities and quality as defined in the IS Project Delivery Methodology (IS PDM)
* Manage and coordinate program budgets, forecasts, tasks, schedules, and change management to support effective program decisions
* Manage and coordinate interdependencies between program work streams (intra-program and across portfolio)
* Oversee the development of strategic risk analysis and control plans acting as escalation point for all program-level risks and issues
* Manage relationship with senior business stakeholders to ensure the effective capturing of business requirements and commitments to project/program objectives. Responsible for steering/stakeholder meetings, communications of status, issues and risks.
* Drive effective risks and issues management, ensuring processes are in place and effectively used. Ensure problems resolved and escalated as appropriate
* Build a cohesive project/program team and provide the leadership necessary to maximize the team's success
* Own program improvement plans and oversee execution of remediation plans.
* Oversee changes to program scope, ensuring that all impacts and changes are approved and appropriately communicated to senior stakeholders and review boards.
* Ensure service transition plans including controlled integration with/into support and maintenance is performed.
* Ensure the program adheres to all standards including IS PDM, quality, and compliance, as well as processes, defined technical capabilities and best practices.
* Ensure expected benefits realization is consistent with program deliverables and clearly understood by senior stakeholders and program team
* Lead/drive/support enhancements of the project/program management capability
* Lead/drive/support effective collaboration with embedded IS organization in support of the program
* Works collaboratively with:
o Senior/executive business stakeholders to ensure understanding and commitment to program objectives and development and refinement of deliverables
o IT stakeholders including RM, SDD senior leadership, Enterprise Architecture, Quality, Security, and Support to ensure understanding and commitment to program objectives and can be collectively supported by IT
o IT Business Operations and Strategic Sourcing to ensure development and negotiation for appropriate resource needs are on-boarded as program needs dictate
