Hi,
I wanted to check in with you regarding Project Manager position I am working on. The opportunity is a 12+ months assignment with a major Hospitality company in Parsippany, NJ. They are seeking a Project Manager.
Duration – 12+ months (with some possibilities of extension)
Work Location: - Parsippany, NJ
A qualified candidate should have the following:
Description:
Project Manager responsible for executing large, complex information technology projects; with up to 15 FTE's. Directs, manages, and plans the day to day operational activities of the projects in line with the Project Management Office's processes and procedures.
Essential Job Functions
# Responsibility
1. 60% - Executing the day to day operational activities to insure projects are being completed on time and on budget. This includes project planning and communication, issue resolution, coordination of project teams, and facilitating all of the necessary budgetary items for executing a project.
2. 20% - Project Monitoring – Reviewing and analyzing all project activity related reporting as a pro-active measure to be on the lookout for early indicators of risks or budget issues.
3. 10% - Risk Mitigation – Proactively managing the risk items, and developing mitigation strategies
4. 10% - Status Reporting – Facilitating project status meetings – and communicating project status to key project stakeholders.
Non-Essential Job Functions
These are functions which are ancillary to the job, and may be assigned to others if necessary. Most functions that account for only a small part of the job are considered non-essential.
Scope/Financial Responsibility
Describe quantifiable measures that will help define the value of the position. Examples include size of budget, business metrics, etc. Also, describe the impact on revenue, profit or expenses by stating activities that could affect financial results of Hotel Group.
Management of large complex projects. In excess of $500k and a project team of 15 people. Projects will also have multiple key-stakeholders with varying degrees of expectations.
Projects to be delivered within +/- 10% of timeline
Projects to be delivered within +/- 10% of budget

• Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the business/client environment and systems, connectivity and application technological alternatives.
• Understanding of various technologies including, applications, databases, networking, telecommunications and connectivity.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications
• 5 to 7 years of experience in a Project Management role with a strong background in team development.
• Experience leading large application development design/deployment projects.
• Extensive knowledge of systems development life cycle. Ability to lead teams and deliver all phases of complex systems assignments.
• Experience negotiating with business partners and external vendors. Experience negotiating contractual agreements and understanding of the legal implications of the effort.
• Extensive project management experience. Extensive knowledge of project management tools, techniques and practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of Word, Excel, MS Project, Outlook, Visio software programs.
Complexity
Describe the following:
Level of decision making authority (nature and scope of decision-making, extent to which independent action is taken) – Candidate will be responsible for making the tactical day to day decisions to insure projects are being delivered. Key decision related to scope and budget will be escalated and managed through a change control process.
The impact of his/her decision on the organization – Candidates decision making will be limited to project execution and/or methodology.
What, if any, are the supervisory responsibilities? Including titles that report into the position, approximate number of direct and indirect reports. There are no direct supervisory responsibilities with this position
Organizational Relationships
List any important contacts and/or relationships this position will have inside and outside of the company. Please explain the nature and frequency of these contacts
Candidate will report directly to the Mission Director position. They will have frequent interaction with key project stakeholders, and any vendors providing services on their projects.
