Subject: Looking for a Linux support consultant

Hi,
I currently have an IMMEDIATE NEED for a consultant at a financial firm
downtown. 3 month plus contract role. Must be willing to work
weekends(work can be done remotely on weekends).
This role really involves the remediation and continuity of service for
Unix/Linux servers, resulting from network upgrades and events. Server
experience is the key. Network experience is a plus. Absence of financial
is OK but financial is preferred.
1. Coordinate between GBAM network PMO and GRC application team on
network maintenance schedule
2. Assess application impact and identify server impact list
3. Coordinate with Windows / UNIX support if server reboot is required
for network maintenance
4. Coordinate with Windows / UNIX support to upgrade network connection
from 1 Gbps to 10Gbps.
5. Coordinate with MarketData team for on-going vendor connectivity
consolidation including Client, Tullett and Cantor.
6. Communicate to application team on maintenance windows and
application impact
7. Verify network / servers in scope has disaster recovery alternative
for potential network outage
8. Work with GBAM support to ensure all critical network components has
resiliency path.
9. Capture 3DNS, WideIP and load balance configuration and verify after
network change
10. Login or SSH to GRC server(s) and verify network connectivity
11. Verify all NIC Teaming / bonding are working after network
maintenance
12. Verify network NIC speed after network maintenance
13. Update application network topology after network maintenance
14. Compare network routing topology before and after network
maintenance.
15. Verify Vendor VPN connectivity before and after network maintenance
16. Verify firewall rules and network connectivity from application
servers to exchange connectivity
17. Verify web proxy and plug proxy connectivity from application
servers to exchange connectivity
18. Verify proxy Client file configuration
19. Verify network latency between datacenter and exchange connection(s)
20. Verify all multicast and unicast traffic between application server
and exchange connection(s)
