BUSINESS ANALYST TO SUPPORT THE PENSION SERVICES DEPARTMENT
SALARY - $85,000 - $100,000
SUMMARY: The Business Analyst is primarily responsible for facilitating the proper alignment between business processes and technology. This liaison role is expected to utilize business and industry knowledge in the development of technology solutions that support both ITS and business department goals.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. - Business Knowledge: Fundamental knowledge of Defined Benefit and Defined Contribution pension plans.
- Business Analysis: Demonstrates superior problem solving and analytical skills. Shows an ability to grasp and apply analysis concepts and break-down a problem to achieve effective results. Assist in maintaining and enhancing database performance.
- Relationship Management: Proactively initiates, develops and maintains effective working relationships while managing expectations. Demonstrated ability to cooperate with a variety of people and achieve effective results. Excellent communications skills.
- Core Applications / Tools: Pension administration applications, relational data bases, and the Microsoft suite of products including Word, Visio, Project, and PowerPoint. Working knowledge of SBC Systems' Benefit Workstation a plus.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of experience with defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans
- 5+ years of experience in the system development process, including the definition of business requirements, functional designs, and user acceptance test scripts.
- Demonstrated superior knowledge of business functions is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related fields.
