My client, a well-established manufacturer in Massachusetts, is looking to hire a Director of Operations who will be responsible for manufacturing operations - focusing on improving assembly process efficiency. This position is accountable for cost management, safety and training for production employees, while ensuring manufacturing performance, financial safety and quality goals are met. We are seeking someone with a BS/BA degree (preferably in management or engineering), with 7-10 years of manufacturing experience - knowledgeable and experienced in LEAN manufacturing principles in a fast-paced assembly process with at least five years of managerial experience. The right person will have a solid working knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications, and of training principles, strong analytical and leadership skills, ability to solve complex problems involving capacity and logistic constraints, effective communication skills (written and oral), strong organization skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands, a strong customer focus, the proven ability to make sound business decisions, excellent and proven leadership ability, demonstrated success working within a team environment (while meeting/exceeding expectations) and in multi-tasking (able to adapt to an ever-changing environment, while maintaining a clear focus on all priorities), and experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
This position will be responsible for: directing and managing manufacturing processes, monitoring and driving manufacturing performance metrics, initiating cost savings projects, bringing innovative lean manufacturing ideas and implementing them, directing the actions of supervisors to achieve corporate goals, maintaining key levels of production requirements, and coordinating with other managers to ensure production aligns with sales needs.

Hello -

Two million unemployed Americans will be abruptly cut off of federal unemployment insurance the last week of December unless Congress acts to renew the federal benefits program. Another one million would lose access to those benefits after their regular state benefits run out during the first three months of 2013. That would be cruel indeed, and damaging to the economy.

I just sent a message to Congressional leaders, telling them to put partisanship aside and renew the existing federal unemployment insurance program for 2013 before it expires at the end of this year.

Job Description
We are seeking an Executive Director of Cancer Services to function at the Corporate Level to provide focused leadership for all aspects Oncology Services, including but not limited to, overall strategic direction, business development, financial performance, performance improvement, physician collaboration and synergy, market influence, market share growth, patient satisfaction and daily operations throughout our hospital system as we continue to expand our healthcare organization.
 
This role will have direct line reports and matrix organizational relationships.  The Executive Director of Cancer Services will collaborate with key stakeholders, including hospital owners, senior leadership, physicians, and central members of the cancer team to establish long and short term goal and annual objectives.
 
The Executive Director of Cancer Services is to be able to use past experience, training, and/or other resources or techniques to anticipate emerging Oncology trends and evaluate impact on current services, technology and market. 
 
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
* Developing business plans, creating marketing and public relations strategies, and coordinating space, equipment, and information systems for all Cancer services in collaboration with institutional subject matter experts and matrix management colleagues.
 
* Collaborating with physician medical directors, the Chief Medical Officer, employed and private physician groups to ensure the development of clinical services and the integration of physicians into all aspects of leadership of the service line.
 
* Promoting collegial interdisciplinary team relationships and the patient experience to support seamless delivery of care.
 
* Expanding influence of Cancer Services in the regional market by developing collegial relationships with local, regional and national Oncology programs and providers through relationships, affiliations, and service offerings that are superior for patients and referring physicians and facilities.
 
* Coordinating the development of clinical and educational outreach programs for public education and awareness including screening and early detection programs, patient support groups, and other complementary programs.
 Qualifications
* Bachelors Degree in business or health related field.  Masters Degree preferred. 
* 5-10 years in senior management roles in hospitals, physician practices or managed care organizations or business leadership with demonstrated success.
