Listed below are the upcomingJanuary 2013 Networking Events. All meetings are open to the public, plus youare welcome and strongly encouraged to attend.

Many of theorganizations listed below offer networking meetings that convene monthly,semi-monthly, or weekly. Try to attend at least one or two meetings a week.Many of these groups meet in the evening, so it will not take time away fromyour daily job search activities. Plus, they have interesting speakers whooffer valuable tips on: 1) Resume preparation, 2) Effective job searchtechniques, 3) Interviewing, 4) Post Interview Follow-up, 5) LinkedIn, 6) Branding,7) Time Management, and various other helpful job search related topics.

Also, in order tomaximize your network, try to attend meetings in different geographical areas,but especially in towns where you are targeting companies that you would liketo work for. Not only will you learn valuable job search skills, but greatlyexpand your circle of friends. Who knows, the person you meet at one of thesenetworking events may be able to introduce you to a hiring manager at one ofyour target companies.

Thursday, January 3rd from 7:00 – 9:00 pm:Lives in Transition (LIT) will host Rev. Daniel H. Love, who will give a presentation titled:Exploring Your Personality Style, forgreater self-knowledge and career direction. Participants will have an opportunity to take and learn fromthe Myers-Briggs Assessment - one of the most used personality tools. Resultsof the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) allow you to understand more aboutyour personality and how you interact with others and the world around you.
