program - piloted in New Jersey (Deadline for nominations: Jan 15)
Date: Thu, 3 Jan 2013 19:44:49 +0000
New Jersey Governor Christie just announced a pilot program that opens
up great career opportunities for talented college and high school
students, for returning veterans, and for other people looking for more
advanced skills that will earn them high paying jobs as technical
cybersecurity experts. The deadline to apply is January 15.
The education program is completely free for those who qualify and
provides deep hands-on mastery of mission critical cyber skills
including 5 of SANS most popular courses.
The program guarantees each successful participant a "residency"
(6-month internship) at one of several cool New Jersey and New York
employers - both government and commercial - where the residents will
learn from some of the best practitioners in the field.
Do you know anyone who has talent in information technology - especially
returning veterans or others who you think could become a top cyber
professional and might want to the attend this immersion training
program in New Jersey? Forward this note and let them know you think
they are qualified. Be sure to remind them the deadline to register for
the qualification round is January 15.
