Job Description:
Wolters Kluwer Global Shared Services is designed to provide services to the business units in the areas of technology, sourcing, procurement, legal, finance, and human resources. Global Shared Services is the primary interface to the company's offshore service centers where business process standardization is leveraged to achieve operating efficiencies in software development and testing, content production, and other business process outsourcing (BPO) functions where productivity improvements and increasing levels of quality can be achieved.
We are currently seeking an EVP/CTO for our Global Shared Services organization to drive world-class performance and service delivery in the area of infrastructure. This role will be based out of our Chicago, IL or NY, NY office.
The EVP/CTO will be accountable for the overall infrastructure technology strategy against business requirements. The CTO is responsible for establishing a world-class industry leading team of specialists including EU, collaboration, hosting, storage, networking, telecoms & HA. In addition to strategy, the EVP/CTO has oversight of the implementation of the global vendor infrastructure consolidation strategy and responsibility for the management of operations for the in scope global vendors, both in terms of performance and ongoing service delivery to the business. The CTO, Global Infrastructure reports to the CIO.
Essesntial Duties and Responsibilities:
Create and implement the overall infrastructure technology strategy against business requirements.
Manage operations for in scope infrastructure services
Manage the infrastructure organization that supports the two CIO businesses in their customer delivery & support.
Manage the transition & consolidation of additional business units/country's to in scope services.
Define, manage, and report metrics and develop action plans to correct deficiencies, working closely with CIO's as necessary.
Optimize the mix of in house versus out sourced services.
Manage strategic service provider partnerships.
Identify emerging information technologies to be assimilated, integrated, and introduced within the company.
Work with CIO's to achieve investment and support cost objectives.
Support Tech BV program compliance for the GSS organization.
Recruit, train, supervise and evaluate department staff.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum Experience:
Education: completion of a Master's Degree in information technology or computer science and ten-to-fifteen years of experience in a senior-level information technology position.
Knowledge of IT infrastructure operations, back office applications, contracting, negotiating, financial management, service level management, vendor management and change management.
Knowledge of information technology computer systems and software and the ability to manage the entire spectrum of information technology operations, and entire development and project management lifecycle.
Knowledgeable in relevant emerging technologies such as cloud, SaaS, virtualization, mobility and utility based computing.
Experience with implementation of complex information technology integrations in a large division/company, within a global format and skilled in navigating change management programs.
Strong customer service orientation with a proactive approach and sensitivity towards consistently improving service for the business.
Experience managing complex offshore and 3rd party operations & partnerships.
Familiar with current market conditions and trends, contracting and vendor management practices
Well versed in IT industry standards, policies, trade regulations and management practices (COBIT, ITIL, CMMI, SAS 70, security, SOX, IT-DR, data privacy, encryption)
Preferred experience in a high computational and high-availability operating environment (i.e. 9999, 99999) and ability to create a 7X24 operating model with internal and partner organizations.
Strong understanding & experience in providing application and infrastructure services in a globally oriented services & product delivery organization.
Ability to navigate a global and diverse business & technology environment.
Effective in establishing standards, convergence strategies and sound migration plans.
Ability to establish effective governance, capacity planning, asset consumption and allocation methodologies.
Demonstrated track record of high customer satisfaction results and effecting measurable service level and economic improvements.
Experience in the transformation and adaptation of emerging technologies
Proven track record in driving TCO performance and ensuring price performance is in line with market options.
Experience establishing priorities within a team construct and working very closely and supporting CIO's in developing strategy, priorities and investment considerations.
Superior written and verbal communication as well as interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively at the most senior levels of an organization.
Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
Decision making and problem solving based on goal and results orientation.
Demonstrates market awareness and shares knowledge development of expertise in field.
Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
