Network Security Architect
Temp-to-perm
The most important part of this whole job description: Must Have - 10-15 years of network experience, with at least 5 RECENT years of network security specific experience
Seeking a Network Security Architect responsible for architecting and managing implementation of all matters relating to security of company networks globally. This includes the security of networks in our data centers, corporate offices, divisional offices and properties world-wide.
Areas of Focus and Responsibility
Develop and manage implementation of strategy to assure adequate protection of company'
Develop and manage SEIM solutions. Work with various technology groups and outsourced service providers to assure security events are analyzed and incidents detected.
Develop and manage implementation strategy for various IDS/IPS components as relates to network perimeter controls. Find areas for augmentation and improvement of existing systems.
Work with hotel and divisional IT staff to design secure networks. Implement security policies based on threat data collected by the information security team, and external providers of threat data.
Manage various outsource providers operation of firewall and IDS/IPS systems. Assure that Starwood policies are complied with and contract SLAs are met.
Work with various business and technology leaders (including hotel divisional IT VPs) to assure their network connectivity needs are being met in a manner Responsible for architecting and managing implementation of all matters relating to security of company'
Manage company'
Develop and manage process for network penetration testing by internal and 3rd party resources as a means to validate the integrity of network controls.
Coordinate with information security peers to assure vulnerability and risk reduction programs are successful and provide desired risk reduction benefit.
Design and Architect security solutions that are highly available, perform within acceptable parameters for operations and provide the highest security value for the global enterprise.
Decision Making Authority:
Firewall architecture for all locations, including all corporate locations and owned/managed hotels. Currently this includes an inventory of approx. 600 devices. Firewalls are the primary mechanism to prevent intrusion into our network and systems from outsiders.
Network Intrusion Detection/Preventio
All Firewall rule changes will require the approval of the Director, Network Security. This is to assure that a technical mistake and/or decision not in compliance with our Global Information Security Policies does not expose our environment to compromise/intrusio
Requirements
Minimum Education Required - College Degree in Computer Science
· Highly Preferred - CISSP, CISM, or GIAC GSEC or other, Desired - Cisco security certifications (CCNP, CCIE). Checkpoint Certified.
· Must Have - 10-15 years of network experience, with at least 5 recent years of network security specific experience.

On Wednesday evening, January 23rd, MIS Network Associates (MNA), IT-Networking (IT NET), TENG, Monmouth Networking, The Breakfast Club of New Jersey (TBCNJ), ETP Network, and Careers In Transition (CIT) will host a combined dinner meeting for members, alumni, friends, recruiters, and guests at the Holiday Inn in Totowa NJ.
Our speaker will be Abby Kohut, otherwise known to job seekers as âAbsolutely Abbyâ, a leader in corporate recruiting for the past 16 years. She has held positions such as Senior Director of Recruiting & Career Development for Kaplan, Inc., Employment Director at Sabert Corporation, and Manager of Global Recruiting for Alpharma, Inc. She is currently the President of Staffing Symphony, LLC, a staffing consulting company, and over the past 6 years has had clients in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, non-profit, legal, and publishing industries. A leader in her field, and a well-known speaker on campaigning to get connected, Abby can help you find the position you are striving for. She has facilitated employment for attendees at over 200 events like this in the recent past, and has set a goal to help one million job seekers. Abby will present what goes on from the other side of the table in the search for employment candidates â" particularly one
recruiterâs use of LinkedIn.
The schedule for the dinner meeting on January 23rd will be:
- 6:00 to 7:00 pm â" Registration, âspeed datingâ, and cash bar
- 7:00 to 7:15 pm â" General introductions
- 7:15 pm -- Dinner
- 8:00 pm             â" Abby Kohut
Following our usual meeting format, after you have registered and added your resume, etc. to the handout piles, everyone will participate in a series of informal networking groups i.e. âspeed datingâ, before we sit down for dinner and the general introductions. Briefly, the âspeed datingâ informal groups will consist of 3 to 5 attendees and last a period of about 10 minutes â" or 2 minutes per person. At the end of the 10 minutes, the groups will breakup and find new âpartnersâ. Suggested dialogues for the groups will be provided at the registration along with a numbered RSVP list â" see below.
There will be an opportunity to circulate up to 50 copies of your resume, personal bio, leads, or other appropriate material in a handout for each participant from the dinner.
The cost will be $45 for everyone if forwarded by mail or other to John Sampson by COB Tuesday, January 22nd at 2 Blackfoot Cir, Wayne NJ 07470. Checks should be made out to John Sampson who can be reached by phone at 973-248-3251 or via email at jcsspike@yahoo.com . Reservations can also be made by contacting Lizanne Fiorentino at adminedg@optonline.net but checks must be sent directly to John.
To facilitate the networking on the event on January 23rd, we will create an RSVP list of those planning to attend which will include for those attendees who are working, current work affiliation, email address, three previous companies youâve worked for/consulted at, professional job interest or position availability must be included in your RSVP.
For those attendees who are in transition, three target companies and your last permanent or consulting affiliation should be included in your RSVP. An initial list of attendees will be emailed to all the RSVPs, members of MNA, TENG, Monmouth Networking, IT-Net, ETP Network, CIT, and other interested parties on Sunday, January 20th. The RSVP list will facilitate networking at the dinner meeting and can be used to communicate with attendees in advance or after the dinner meeting.
A final numbered RSVP list of attendees and an ID badge will be available at the registration desk on the 23rd. Your number on the final RSVP list should be part of your introduction: âIâm number x on the RSVP list â¦â All attendees should have their sharp, crisp, short elevator speech at the ready. Too many âahs, dees and doesesâ will be cut off unceremoniously!
We will accept a LIMITED number of walk-ins on the January 23rd. Anyone who attends on the 23rd and whose check has not been received by COB on January 22nd will be charged $60 WITHOUT EXCEPTION. There will be NO refunds and no-shows WILL be billed. Walk-ins will not be on the preliminary RSVP or have a numbered badge.
Again, bring 50 copies of your bio/resume, leads, or materials you wish to be included in the handout the evening of January 23rd.
