Legal Services of New Jersey, a statewide civil legal assistance organization based in central NJ, seeks a Web Manager and Designer to join our IT department. The individual will be responsible for design, development and management of web initiatives as well as day-to-day oversight and coordination of our overall web presence and will provide fresh, creative features to our sites and update them on a regular basis with copy, content, design and new functionality. The candidate must have several years of experience doing this work in a professional environment, strong technical and design skills, attention to detail, and a portfolio of highly functional corporate websites. *The person chosen will need to be enthusiastic about and committed to increasing legal information and help to low-income people through public websites.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Manage redesigns and new web initiatives involving a diverse design team from across our organization.
Collaborate with team members to design, develop, test, support, and maintain our public and mobile websites, intranet and web-based applications.
Provide insight toward improving the visibility of our web sites and our social networking presence.
Assist with providing a consistent brand and experience across our web properties.
Ensure usability and accessibility of all sites.
Maintain ADA/W3C compliance of all web properties.
Assist with maintenance of low volume e-commerce system
Use web analytics to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of our websites and direct our future web initiatives.
Use SEO techniques to increase the access of legal information, particularly to the poor, on our websites
Create and manage online purchasing systems.
Acquire and maintain SSL Certifications.
Required Professional Skills
Minimum 3 years of experience with web design, development and requirements gathering.
Experience with project management
Creative thinker and multi-tasker, able to collaborate with multiple teams in a fast-changing environment.
Required Technical Skills
Proficient in HTML, HTML5, XML and CSS
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Fireworks)
Conceptual understanding of Responsive Web Design (RWD)
Experience with Web analytic tools and search engine optimization (SEO) techniques
Highly Valued*a plus:
Interest in helping low-income people and access to justice for all.
Knowledge of JavaScript
Knowledge of SharePoint
Experience with Web Content Management Systems
Experience delivering multimedia content
Ability to read and write Spanish
