Position Responsibilities - Summary
This individual will be responsible for delivering system solutions for the
Finance business area, with projects spanning revenue and invoicing,
incentive compensation, financial planning and analysis, project costing,
and accounting applications. We are looking to bring experience and best
practices to a fast-moving area of the company.
The candidate should have experience in supporting business professionals in
Finance and a proven track record in successful project management and
delivery. This individual will report to the Financial Applications Lead.
Responsibilities:
· Develop key knowledge of specific financial workflows
· Manage the work of both internal and external resources in the
implementation and support of Finance-related technology projects and
initiatives
· Partner with Finance to identify and prioritize system needs
· Define, analyze and document the functional requirements in
support of system enhancements
· Plan, manage and execute the functional testing of new systems and
enhancements to existing systems
· Manage special projects from initiation through execution and
delivery
· Review and document existing financial processes and propose
process or system improvements to reduce cost and/or streamline business
processes
· Recommend modifications to established practices and procedures
· Assist in the design and development of new data repositories and
reporting tools that will be used to organize, analyze and report the Firm's
financial data
· Develop and maintain relationships with key business partners
across the firm
Required Skills and Competencies:
· 5+ years or more experience in a systems role supporting Finance
departments (experience working in investment management firms a plus)
· Experience with Budget Management Systems like Clarity for a Large
IT area a big plus
· Experience with MS Access, OBIEE, & data marts a plus
· Demonstrated experience in formal software development
methodologies
· Strong project management/ project methodology and delivery skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Highly self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced,
team-oriented environment, taking initiative as necessary
· Demonstrate strong client focus and relationship management skills
· Strong analytical and problem solving skills with an attention to
detail
· Bachelor'
field is preferred
· Hands-on knowledge of SQL and relational database technology
· An MBA, CPA, CFA or work toward a CFA would be considered a plus
Keys to this Position:
1. Strong Systems Analysis skills are required
2. Domain knowledge (in this order): We do not need all three but this
would be the order of importance:
1. Systems Analysis experience supporting a Finance department (i.e.
Revenue and Invoicing, Incentive Compensation, Financial Planning and
Analysis, Project Costing, Accounting, etc.
2. Experience assisting in the design and development of new Data
Repositories and Reporting tools.
3. Financial services or Investment Management experience.

My client's Trading Support unit is seeking a systems analyst to join the
team supporting our Fixed Income Corporate, Money Market, High Yield, and
Foreign Exchange desks. The trading systems group provides a high level of
electronic trading automation and tools to automate the post-trade
allocation notification process. Currently, the systems provide a means for
traders to electronically receive orders, execute, and send allocation
reports to multiple execution platforms.
Qualified applicants must possess a strong knowledge of technology, trading,
and financial services. Candidates must also possess excellent
communication skills, be self-motivated, willing to work in an energetic,
fun, fast pasted and team-oriented group. The ability to manage multiple
priorities is required. This position requires some partial early, late and
weekend shift coverage.
Responsibilities:
· Support of technology located on trading desks
· Spending a large portion of work time on the trading floor
· Phone support; answering trader questions in an expeditious manner
· Researching reported problems. Generating story level
enhancements or bug defects via existing technical tools and process
methods.
· Helping other business groups with trading related questions and
problems
· Operational readiness and rollout of new versions of applications
· Test new technology and vendor interfaces to other applications
