All
This weekend I was unsure that I would be able to attend our monthly meeting.
Therefore, proactively we had 3 long time members: George Pace, Gerry Peyton, & Benny Recine volunteer to lead the meeting.
These members really constitute what makes the group great. I don't know if any of them have ever been in transition during
their time as members of the group, they attend very regularly, and are there to support and give back to each member who
is in transition. For those of you that truly understand networking these are real "givers" whose networking emotional bank accounts
runneth over!!!
Well not only did they do a great job but they hit a home run! I was very impressed on how the three of them worked together as
a team to really make the meeting more engaging and fun.
During the meeting even though we go through house keeping items every meeting it became apparent to me that individuals
still don't know how to email members of the group. All you have to do is from the email account that you provided when you joined the group
send email to thebreakfastclubnj@yahoogroups.com. For all new members send an introduction of yourself - set your elevator pitch to narrative and share,
When you are going after an opportunity leverage the group by sending a message to all our members asking them help.
Finally when landing put out a recap of what led to your landing what you learned in transition it gives hope to other members still in transition
while possibly providing the missing link in their search.
When I founded this group I had a vision for a very strong network but sad to say we are only scratching the surface of yahoo, linked in, facebook, and other functionality. With 3800+ members if every member just posted 2 hidden job opportunities every year that would be 7600+ opportunities we could keep all of our members employed. Please introduce new people you find in transition to the group. Attend meetings to keep the group strong like George, Gerry, and Benny
as then we will be assured there will be a group if you ever need it again. And finally help one another whenever possible - this simple fantastic principal is what makes our group great!
See you all next month - until then leverage the functionality before you yahoo, LinkedIn, Facebook and if you meet anyone in transition welcome them to join and bring them to next months meeting - YOU CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE!!
Thanks!
