TheaterMania.com, Inc. is seeking a Java Web Developer to join our team and help build our industry-leading box office software and ticketing solution.
OvationTix (http://www.ovationtix.com/) is a Software as a Service (SaaS) eCommerce platform that provides comprehensive solutions for performing arts venues. It is Java JEE Web software that serves organizations of all sizes across the US with high availability and reliability.
The candidate will have opportunity to shape OvationTix software and make an impact on the future of the ticketing business while working in a dynamic and supportive environment. Our compensation package includes competitive salary and full benefits (vacation, company paid health insurance for family, 401(k)).
Responsibilities:
+ Design and develop new features using Java JEE technology, frameworks, and tools. You'll be working in full stack open source java technologies - Spring, Hibernate, Struts, JSP, JSTL, etc.
+ Participate in daily scrum meetings, and take responsibility for delivering features on time and achieving success as a team.
+ Interact with product developers, QA, client services agents, and salespeople. Understand how software is used in the field, what is working and what is not. Apply this understanding in writing software that delivers business value and competitive edge.
+ Review design specs and code with the team, give constructive feedback to your peers and stakeholders.
+ Solve complex programming challenges - front end, middle tier, and backend.
Must have skills:
+ Excellent communication skills
+ Self-motivated, self-learner and tinkerer. Candidate must be constantly exploring new frontiers in Web technology.
+ Proficient in n-tier software architecture and design patterns.
+ Passionate about writing testable and maintainable code. Must be aware of 'Clean Code' (Author: Robert Martin) practices.
+ Java, Spring, JSP, JSTL, JavaScript
+ Either JDBC or Hibernate
