My wife Sue has spent her life working with troubled youth, and is highly successful because of her unique rapport with them. She helps them realize what they want out of life and how to get it, without lecturing or talking down to them. Give her a call, for your kid's sake, and yours.

It's never easy making
the transition from irresponsible kid to contributing adult, and today's kids
are facing issues that are even tougher to navigate. Some kids can manage these
issues on their own, but some need more guidance and motivation. Using things
I've learned from school (I have a Master's degree in Behavioral Sciences) to
my work with kids on many levels (I've run over 300 hardcore punk/metal shows, worked
with terminally ill kids, tutored/coached/counseled teens and young adults for
many years, and had horses most of my life), and my own role as the mother of
three grown sons, I have a unique perspective on what makes kids tick, and my
obvious respect for them helps us connect. The passion of a confused, lost, or
angry child should not be reduced, just focused. Together, we can take an
unhappy, unproductive, rebellious kid, and encourage them to become capable and fulfilled without
conforming or losing their identity. I come to you, and we can meet wherever
you are comfortable, whether it's home, walking, driving around, or meeting
somewhere important to your child. Sessions don't end until we're done for the day; we start with an hour
and see what happens. Please contact me so we
can get started, for everyone's sake.

Listed below are next week's upcoming networking events. Allmeetings are open to the public, plus you are welcome and strongly encouragedto attend. Try going to at least one or two meetings a week, what you learnthere will definitely help shorten your time in transition. Also, many of thesegroups convene in the evening, so it will not take time away from your dailyjob search activities.
Think of these meetings as opportunities, sort of like going toschool, to learn something that can reduce your time in transition by gainingknowledge in job search and interviewing skills needed to excel and standoutfrom your competition.
In traveling to these meetings, consider car pooling. Not onlywill it reduce the cost of driving there, but the friendly conversation willmake the ride seem to go much faster.
Also, in the event of inclement weather, please check with themeeting organizer if the presentation will be canceled or postponed beforetraveling there. Your safety is important. Please rely on your best judgment before venturing out on slipperyroads.
Ifanyone is aware of an upcoming meeting that you would like to share with thegroup, please let me know and I will gladly include it with my weekly updates.
