Description
The Technology & Operations Management Systems Group aims to deliver best-of-breed solutions to optimize the management of Technology & Data and Operations businesses. Applications in this space support a range of management processes: Program & Portfolio Management, Client Budgeting, Capital Budgeting, Time Tracking & Client Billing, Resource Management, and Project Tracking & Delivery Management. The team typically manages large, complex multi-silo projects, or change programs across the Tech & Data and Operations divisions.
This position is for a Business Analyst focusing on capturing and converting business requirements into executable functional design. The role requires ability to face-off to a diverse base of user-groups to solicit requirements and manage expectations as to what is achievable within realistic time frames. Successful candidate will face-off to the Technical Team, acting as advocate for the various user groups and have very strong documentation skills.
Position will assist in all aspects of the software development life cycle, including:
- Requirements Gathering - produce business requirements and process documentation. Will require facing off with multiple business lines and regions. Candidate must possess ability to synthesize user requirements, break them into logical phases and identify key dependencies required for success (e.g. business processes and standards).
- Functional Design - assist project team with designing functional specifications to meet the business requirements. Specifications will include creating user interface wireframes, documenting application behavior, data analysis, and business rules.
- Testing - assist in the creation of system and user acceptance test plans as well as executing the plans or coordinating their execution.
- Training - Coordination and support of training program - work with business areas and training department to develop and deploy multi-channel training as needed.
- Support - Assist in the investigation and resolution of day-to-day production support requests for existing applications.
- Project Management - Candidate should be well-versed in project management tasks, such as developing a project plan/work breakdown structure, compiling project status reports for management, managing scope, and setting project governance models.
Qualifications
- Experience with different requirements gathering techniques (ex. gap analysis, cross-functional process flows, use case modeling).
- Proven ability to assimilate complex business problems and resolve ambiguous information into clearly articulated functional and technical requirements, then oversee the conversion to a technical solution.
- Strong documentation skills for all aspects of a project life cycle (requirements, design, testing).
- Demonstration of process and/or system ownership in one or more of the following areas: Client budgeting, capital budgeting, IT funding request management, cash/fiscal planning, or other financial management processes related to tracking planned and actual spend.
- Ability to quickly digest new information and learn new businesses and processes.
- Ability to investigate a problem, determines root cause, and work with end users to solve their issues.
- Ability to operate/communicate horizontally and vertically across the various business units and IT and comfortable conversing with Business Sponsors/Business Stakeholders/Technical Developers.
- Strong customer/client relationship skills (understanding and focusing on the clients' needs, establishing credibility and building relationships with clients, etc.).
- Ability to work as part of a global team.
- Self-starter able to execute with minimal supervision.
- Accurate, tenacious & delivery focused, with an eye for detail and design.
- Understanding of and exposure to full development lifecycle.
- Excellent hands-on experience of MS Office (including Visio) and SharePoint.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience in writing functional requirements, user documentation and training materials. Must be able to get the message across to a variety of audiences.
