Title: Software QA Engineer Location: Norwalk , CT Duration: 3-12 months contract, right to hire position after 1 year. Rate: $35-40/hr C2C or $30-35/hr W-2 Travel approximately 10%
Overview:We are seeking a QA Test Engineer with experience and the ability to test custom web services based systems to perform these job responsibilities: • Participate in business requirements design • Analyze and design test scenarios for an adequate validation of requirements • Implement reusable test cases for the verification of implemented functionality • Develop traceability matrices for test cases, test scenarios and requirements • Execute functional tests for web applications based on Flash technology • Execute non-functional test to test the architecture of our applications • Submit and follow-up defects based on test results • Report results and status to application owners and technical leads • Write or assist in the development of test plans and test procedures • Maintain test documentation up to date • Advise opportunity areas for the testing discipline
Qualifications: • BS required; BS in technical discipline preferred • 5+ years of experience in software industry • 5+ years of experience in software testing • Solid knowledge of the software development life cycle • Experience with requirements gathering and use case development • Experience with functional and non functional tests executed over web applications • Experience with Adobe Flash application, Java, JSP, XMLs and MySQL • Experience with networking and/or communications protocols • Self-motivated, high-energy, and articulate • Experience working in a dynamic, fast-paced, start-up environment • Passionate about product quality • Knowledge in unit testing is a plus • Experience with test automation tools is a plus • Experience with Agile software development, test driven development and SaaS systems is preferred.
