General Purpose

Sr Risk Systems Data Analyst
Sr.Systems Data Analyst (SDA) helps to define the data sourcing strategy, methods and implementation priorities, roadmap and plan of all data source acquisition to the Global Risk Aggregation system (GRA). GRA supports limits aggregation and limits behavior management for the entire portfolio. The SDA works closely with members of the data analysis and scenario calculation streams and other highly skilled consultants throughout the lifecycle of this large scale data integration and analytics systems implementation.
The qualified candidate has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with the ability to facilitate analysis and issue resolution across multiple systems and groups. Regularly leads small to medium size data acquisition projects, performs project management activities such as planning, sizing, configuration and scheduling activities across the organization. Evaluates options for meeting data sourcing needs and ensures that system requirements are identified, prioritized and incorporated in an effective, efficient manner. The Sr. Systems Data Analyst, leads the analysis and documentation of complex databases and other data sources supporting the GRA project.
Job Requirements
Act as a lead in sourcing data from across the organization in various methods to the GRA data store.
Produce data acquisition specifications and data use documents. Diagram data acquisition processes and data workflows.
Plan and organize data acquisition work and deliverables and integrate/synthesize broad and diverse inputs and large amounts of information to formulate cohesive data requirements to serve as the basis for the business data analysts.
Produce systemic data profiling requirements and lead the data profiling analysis. Compile data profile results and document for downstream use by the business data analysis and scenario calculation streams.
Assist in the design and overall data integration processes and architecture
- Provide testing and other quality assurance services
- Development/update of data warehouse documentation and standard procedures, including data flow diagrams to demonstrate source, transformation and target
Assisting the Data Architect and DBA in the development and maintenance of atomic, aggregates, external hierarchies, indexes, and other database objects.
Supporting cross-platform development, integration with data transformation, security, job scheduling, database loading tools, and source code control and release management/configuration management tools.
Demonstrated experience:
5-7 years of experience in defining, designing and implementing data acquisition projects within large data warehouse environments.
Ability to source data from different source systems (flat file, RDBMS, SAP R/3) confirmed by related work experience
Strong database analysis skills
Solid experience with relational databases and experience with ETL tools (AbInitio, Infosphere/Datastage)
Must be self-motivated, independent, resourceful and a demonstrated team member who is capable of being objective and giving/taking constructive feedback
Flexibility and adaptability to fit the needs of the project, making progress despite ambiguity
Ability to work within existing processes, but able to understand and define where new, different or abridged processes should be used
Ability to prioritize and re-prioritize as events warrant
Ability to work across group boundaries and forge cross-functional relationships
Experience with tools such as Erwin and solid knowledge of SQL code.

ROLE DESCRIPTION
This role is vital to the mission of Global Sourcing and Procurement Services (GS&PS) by providing accurate and useful information in support of the strategies and initiatives while also demonstrating the value GS&PS. DUTIES
Compile, analyze and report on various areas of procurement in an efficient and effective manner with a high degree of accuracy. Responsible for coordinating and managing a strategically significant project to replace enterprise-wide Entity Management application and move to a more robust solution in order to meet "Fed Readiness" Dodd-Frank regulatory requirements. The Project Manager will need to interact with a diverse group of individuals from Legal, Compliance, Corporate Secretary Office, Comptrollers, IT, Internal Audit as well as engage representatives from certain key business groups. Responsible for leading team to improve workflows; implementing the new system; managing data migration, quality assurance and testing; providing regular status updates to senior management to ensure that project is delivered on time and on budget; and coordinate/develop training programs; develop project schedules and coordinate project status meetings; and manage resources in all phases of project. Will serve as primary technical point of contact with management and various technical

The preferred candidate will possess superior written and verbal communication skills with a proven track record of success implementing significant large scale projects. Familiarity with Fed reports FR Y-6 amd FR Y-10 a plus. Graduate degree preferred.

The contractor resource job responsibilities will include:
⢠Responsible for oversight and implementation of the new systems transition for Personal Lines including write business requirements, establish procedures, manage priorities of testing and production, state by state roll-out (new and renewal business), Program Administrator training, UAT testing, management reporting, state compliance adherence, daily progress/status meetings, providing clarity and feedback to the programming team, reporting overall progress and issues to senior management. Routinely coordinates with outside vendors (RiskMeter, ISO, AONBenfield) to facilitate incorporation of additional underwriting information
â¢Responsible for all compliance related issues within Personal Lines. Work with the Legal department to address changes and effective systems implementation and to ensure state compliance results with program connect. Also address Department of Insurance (DOI) complaints.
o Guaranteed wording, Insured Bill of Rights, State Insurance Disclosures all have to be displayed in different locations, different font, etc within the Quote, Binder, and policy. Working with Legal and NY Compliance this information has been integrated into Program Connect. Since Program Connect will produce documents differently than Phoenix the output has to be reviewed with Legal to ensure compliance with state statutes.
o Works with Legal to handle DOI complaints. Complaints require that the underwriting file is fully reviewed and a Home Office Underwriting opinion is provided to Legal regarding the complaint.
⢠Responsible for all production and compliance moves within the Personal Lines system. Ensure that all release notes and changes are effectively communicated to the field. Includes some Help Desk responsibilities to address questions and functionality related to system changes.
⢠Microsoft XL â" this needs to be a well accomplished XL person that fully understands the following:
o Multiple worksheet looks ups and navigation
o Extreme calculations and data manipulation
o vLookup and other match/merge data functions
o Template creation and consolidation (from field into a single sheet)
o Novice use will not be enough for this role.
⢠Microsoft Access â" an accomplished Access person that can create and maintain MS access databases, create input forms for users and work effectively moving data from/to XL, access, etc. Also needed is the store data from external sources and write reports from the access database
⢠Data savvy â" Person needs to be able to quickly learn our data, systems, manual adjustments necessary and how to satisfy specific reporting requirements quickly.
⢠Quickly learn the reports and ad hoc requests to streamline the process and improve the accuracy of our reporting.
⢠Have excellent communication skills to understand what is being requested at a detail level, and document each step of XL and Access process so others are also able to perform.
