Associate Business Information Manager, Research Informatics
An Associate BIM is responsible for aligning the Informatics strategy with the business strategy. He/she has to ensure that cross-functional integration is being realized, service levels are realized, and priorities are set effectively.
Job Responsibilities:
Working with Informatics organizations, and liaising with Customer Teams, the BIM has overall responsibility for:
a. Building strong collaborative partnerships with the business leaders to understand business strategy, business processes and current systems landscape.
b. Provide business alignment, partnership, communications, strategy visibility and understanding, and transparency to the customer base.
c. Advising management on Informatics opportunities and best practices
d. Assists in the development and management of the Informatics project portfolio and budget proposals in alignment with the strategy, business objectives and governance processes. Develop, maintain, and monitor Informatics capital and expense budgeting and planning.
e. Ensuring the applications and processes fit the needs and capabilities of the customer's organization
f. Ensuring standardization of applications by promoting shared processes, data harmonization and architectural compliance where possible
g. Teaming up with appropriate Technical Architects to design and evaluate possible technology solutions
Requirements/Qualifications:
* BA/BS in computer science or equivalent education and professional work experience.
* 6+ years of experience in Information Systems, some of which may be from management consulting or Information systems related to business function
* 4+ years of experience in core business area (i.e. business function preferably from a business process and Information systems perspective
* Knowledge of Corporate Quality & Compliance business areas in the Pharmaceutical industry
* Knowledge of Pre-Clinical business groups including but not limited to Pharmacology, Toxicology and Clinical Pharmacology and Drug Dynamics (CPDD).
* Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to interface with senior executives in Informatics and business
* Strong platform presentation skills with ability to present applications and processes to audiences
* Ability to negotiate, lead and influence others
* Knowledge of business requirements management and documentation
* Ability to identify strategic solutions to business problems
* Ability to manage staff and teams locally, virtually, remote and offshore
* Ability to manage portfolio of activities and related budgetary components
