Description

Position Summary:

Oversee design, implementation and day-to-day operations of the network
and network-related projects. Manage all security for the data center
and Client's technology environment. Maintain the development of the
wireless and telecommunications infrastructures as new technologies and
methods of communicating emerge.

· Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Manage the daily operation and oversight of the
network, including LAN and WAN operations and data/communications
infrastructure:

• Design, plan and manage network-related
projects from conceptual design to implementation;

• Resolve complex configuration and
troubleshooting issues within a dynamic network infrastructure, and
create and maintain documentation regarding networking infrastructure,
standards and projects;

• Procure hardware and software, track inventory
and provide technical leadership in field operations and installations.

• Research, design, plan, implement, monitor and
manage the firewall, intrusion detection and other security-related
products across the company's technology environment. Ensure PCI-DSS
2.0 compliance.

· Coordinate and provide oversight of all data
center security (physical, environmental, virtual, etc.).

· Manage the relationship between the company and
services outsourcing providers, and work with the outsourcing providers
in introducing new technology services to the company.

· Maintain and plan the growth of the wireless
infrastructure in support of emerging technology as it relates to
mobility and its integration into retail technology.

· Maintain and plan the growth of the
telecommunications infrastructure to allow for new and efficient methods
of communicating to our retail and operations facilities and beyond,
including mobile devices and long distance services.

· Manage the company's domains, DNS, active
directory and server administration to include user and computer
accounts, security groups and distribution groups.

· Oversee the administration of the email system,
email security system and related communications systems.

· Coordinate server, desktop and laptop security and
provide oversight of the server control rooms.

· Ensure that adequate back-up power (UPS and/or
generator) is functioning and stable during power outages.

· Plan, direct and oversee the back-up, disaster
recovery and business continuance functions of the company's IT systems
through the use of offsite recovery services, SAN, NAS and
virtualization technologies.

· Assist the help desk with issues that need
escalation to the server or infrastructure level.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information
Technology or related disciplines from an accredited institution, plus
seven years of relevant management experience; or Master's Degree in
above stated fields from an accredited institution, with five years of
management experience.

· Prior experience in progressively higher levels of
management responsibility, including budget developments as well as
supervision of professionals working with large, complex administrative
systems.

· Technical experience/knowledge including network
infrastructure, content management systems, telecommunications, project
and budget management, and managing a network infrastructure to support
a complex multiple-site enterprise.

· Excellent interpersonal, communication and
presentation skills.

Primary duties and responsibilities
� Administers all versions and instances of Microsoft SQL Server (90%) & Oracle databases(10%) used throughout all companies and by all business groups within Olympus Corporation of the Americas.
� Build and supports new development and production database environments as required.
� Monitors database size and performance, making recommendation on improving performance.
� Creates stored procedures, database triggers, indices, and views where necessary to improve performance.
� Communicates with application developers, and provide solutions where necessary to ensure proper database performance and security.
� Performs periodic database upgrades and install service patches as required.
� Works with Operations to establish database Backup-Recovery procedures.
� Performs other related duties as assigned.
� Experience with Microsoft SQL 2008, 2005, 2000 and Oracle 10G, 11G administration
� Experience supporting Oracle on either Unix or Linux.
� Monitoring and profiling of databases.
� Works with applications teams and or developers to tune SQL queries to diagnose application issues or improve performance
� Establishes and secures database and performs monitoring of databases
� Experience with high availability database configurations. Examples include Microsoft Windows SQL clustering, Oracle data guard etc.

Qualifications:
� Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent knowledge.
� Five years experience as a database administrator in an Oracle and Microsoft SQL environment.
� The ability to work out of standard business hours as needed
� Excellent communication skills.
� Working knowledge of Microsoft and Linux operating systems and technologies
� Any application support experience is a plus
