Position Responsibilities - Summary
The Investment and Client Applications team within the Enterprise
Development Center is seeking an individual to lead the team responsible for
the firm's corporate Extranet and Hedge Fund suite of applications. The
successful candidate will also be responsible for critical application and
reporting initiatives in support of the Global Relationship Management,
Global Business Development, Hedge Fund Administration, and Sponsored
Products & Marketing business units.
Key Responsibilities;
· Lead architecture, design, implementation, deployment, and support
efforts
· Work with business team members, project managers, and systems
analysts to review and qualify business requirements, functional
specifications, use-cases, and test plans
· Act as a hands-on lead with responsibilities to author technical
design, architecture, code, and support documentation
· Manage a team of employees and consultants through all aspects of
the software development lifecycle to ensure technical delivery of the
applications
Keys to This Position:
1. Very Strong Web Developer with core hands on Java. This is 80% hands
on development and 20% leading/mentoring.
2. Technical Requirements: Java, XML, XSLT, JSP, Dhtml, PL/SQL. We are
seeking a well-rounded core front-end generalist. Web 2.0 is a plus.
3. Leadership skills: This individual will manage a team of 3 to 4.
Strong leadership/management skills are required. However, the technical
piece is more important.
4. Financial Services required. Investment Management is highly desired.
5. This individual will be responsible for the development efforts on the
firm's 2 external client-facing sites.
Required Skills and Competencies:
· Excellent leadership, technical, management, and systems analysis
skills
· Must have 7 or more years of proven object-oriented software
design and development experience
· Must have 7 or more years of proven hands-on design, development,
and architecture experience in Java-based technologies
· Must have 5 or more years of proven software development
experience with browser-based applications and technologies, used both by
internal users and externally on the internet
· Must have 3 or more years of proven experience with such
technologies as web services, XML/XSLT, Struts Framework, log4j, Ant/Maven,
and SOA
· Must have 3 or more years leading engineering teams on complex
projects
· Proven experience in building technology solutions to satisfy
complex business needs
· Must possess advanced hands-on Oracle SQL, SQL tuning, and PL/SQL
skills
· Must be comfortable working in a Unix and/or Linux environment,
and possess solid experience in various shell scripting languages
· Experience using and deploying to industry-leading application
servers such as BEA WebLogic 9.x or above
· Experience with various software development methodologies, such
as RUP
· Willing to work in an energetic, fast-paced, and team-oriented
environment
· Proven ability to support multiple applications simultaneously
· Must be self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal
supervision
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline

Position Responsibilities - Summary
Client is looking for a Senior Systems Analyst to join the Strategic
Initiatives Group to assist in the definition, design, development and
implementation of tactical projects to meet the strategic objectives of the
organization. A successful candidate will have a strong technical
background, a comprehensive understanding of the fixed income buy side asset
management business, work well within a collaborative environment, and show
strong attention to detail. This is a hands-on role with management
responsibilities for a development team; a solid understanding of database
and systems architecture and best coding practices is critical to success.
Detailed Responsibilities:
· Act as a liaison between end users and technical organization by
planning, conducting, and directing the analysis of highly complex automated
systems to solve business problems.
· Act as an internal consultant within technology and business
groups by using quality tools and process definition/improvement to
re-engineer technical processes for greater efficiencies.
· Provide technical assistance in identifying, evaluating, and
developing systems and procedures that are cost effective and meet business
requirements.
· Manage projects from conception through to implementation, with
strong attention to detail.
· Coordinate projects in logical progression - identify, and manage
to, appropriate deadlines.
· Develop and implement robust test plans to assist in the testing
phases of the SDLC.
Required Skills and Competencies:
· 4 year college degree, preferably in Computer Science or Finance.
Post graduate a plus.
· 8-12 years of professional experience.
· Lead developer/management experience.
· Significant experience with Microsoft Products (SQLServer, .NET,
Sharepoint, Project, Office)
· Familiarity with Portfolio Accounting , Order Management, and CRM
Systems.
· Experience with Portia and/or Latent Zero a plus
· CFA charter or candidacy a Plus
· Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
· Solid understanding of buy side investment practices preferably
with Fixed Income Asset Classes
· Deep knowledge of relational database design and n-tier
architecture
· Solid understanding of Standard Development Life Cycle
· Ability to provide hands-on technical expertise - reading and
writing functional requirements, logical design documents and test plans.
· Ability to communicate effectively, and troubleshoot as needed,
with technical developers as well as end users.
