working on in NYC. Base is going to be $110K to $120K plus commissions.
Our client, a top tier management consulting firm based out of the mid-west, is
looking for a Solutions Manager to head up their NYC division. This person will
eventually have the autonomy to build out a team in NYC but will be in a delivery
role until a client base is established in the New York City market. If you know of

Solutions Managing Director
Purpose of the Job:
The Solutions Managing Director works with prospective clients to develop solutions
for client needs. This involves successfully navigating the client organization,
presenting to key stakeholders and senior executives, and working the process to
yield signed contracts. In addition, the Solutions Managing Director will work with
client champions to solicit referrals and create demand for the firms broader
capabilities.
This role requires seasoned sales and marketing skills, strong relationship skills,
passionate hunting capability, matched with strong consultative skills. Potential to
further advance in the Company is a plus.
Key Responsibilities of this Role:
* Own a major city/geographic territory to target and mine opportunities for new
business across three competency areas and build relationships as appropriate with
dormant and/or existing clients. Focus is on new business.
* Post contract, develop long term client relationships and mine for additional
business
opportunities.
* Time spent in role is approximately 40% field marketing to initiate and cultivate
a robust new business pipeline and 60% sales related activities to convert new
business pipeline into client contracts.
* Create relationships through networking, referrals, and proactive business
development with target buyers, enhancing company's reputation in the key market
you are responsible for
* Research and blueprint the organizations in your market that are prospective
clients.
* Understand the trends, key business issues, and buyers within those
organizations. Ensure that firm has a high degree of business intelligence on these
organizations and buyers (CRM and more).
* Manage forums in your market that showcase our client's thought leadership and
methodology. Deliver meaningful attendance of qualified prospects at each of these
events (25 or more attendees for each event)
* Meet with prospects in one on one or small group meetings to investigate and
probe on needs and qualify interest. Be able to successfully scale the opportunity
to a qualified buyer.
* Find and secure speaking, presentation, and publishing opportunities within the
territory to build interest in our clients product/service lines and enhance
overall organizational brand (including conferences).
* Own the database/CRM for the market, ensuring that all contacts are properly
entered and identified for various business uses.
* Work with and in support of all three of our client's competency areas as
opportunities present themselves and serve as a liaison to marketing for building
brand and gathering market insights.
* Scope and draft initial SOWs independently, demonstrating an understanding of
client needs and how our clients capabilities can uniquely address those needs.
Key Attributes/Experience:
* Proven successful sales background and skills, minimum of7-10 years relevant
business development experience, preferably with selling intangibles
