Good luck, Ken Job Description Summary Design, engineer, implement, and manage technological strategies and projects that provide email, collaboration, business workflow and data archive capabilities for the Par enterprise. Design, install, and maintain Windows servers and associated equipment throughout their system lifecycle. Specifying, installing and operating complex server, data storage and backup systems; managing capacity plans; creating corporate standards for infrastructure, installing new software releases, system upgrades, evaluate and install patches and resolve software related problems. Manage complex projects, managing employee and vendor contributors. Responsible for tracking progress of infrastructure projects and communicating progress to stakeholders. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Essential Function Develop and communicate technology strategies to support Par business processes and to facilitate collaboration across the enterprise. ? Manage infrastructure projects and operations initiatives to meet evolving business needs. ? Architect and engineer solutions involving servers and infrastructure supporting business application projects. ? Architect and engineer solutions for infrastructure virtualization. ? Develop business cases and provide financial planning to assist in full lifecycle of project management. ? Provide expert level production support for Windows servers ? Provide expert support for Outlook, Exchange, Symantec eVault, and data security. Develop and maintain technology standards ? Lead technical project teams of employees, vendors, and contractors ? Maintain technical architecture documentation ? Evaluate and select appropriate infrastructure tools and architectures ? Document development and troubleshooting tasks according to IT compliance and change management requirements ? Provide Technical experience to the legal department for eDiscovery and compliance Supervisory Responsibilities May supervise teams of employees, vendors, and contractors on technical projects Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science or a related field. At least 4 years experience in Server Installation and Deployment with responsibility for implementation of complex system builds required. Certification in Microsoft Server (MCSE). Certification in Project Management preferred. Certification in VMware. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have: Knowledge of Windows client. Knowledge of Compaq/HP and IBM Windows based servers and server blades is required. Prior systems management experience is required. Prior experience in project management is required; certification is a plus. Knowledge of VMWare / vSphere Administration and Engineering is required. Knowledge of Active Directory Design and LDAP is required. Knowledge of SharePoint / MOSS 2007 Administration or Engineering is preferred.Knowledge of Exchange Server 2007 is required. Outlook and Exchange infrastructure support knowledge is required. Knowledge of managing Windows clients and Group Policy is required. Knowledge of systems monitoring software, preferably What's up Gold.Experience in Tivoli Storage Manager, VMware, and Symantec Antivirus are pluses. Experience and/or educational background in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or chemical processing industries an asset. Vendor certifications in relevant technologies (MCSE, etc.) an asset. Strong prioritization, organizational and coordination skills. Must be detail oriented with strong interpersonal skills, team player. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as outside clients and vendors. Ability to use independent discretion, and to handle confidential information with professionalism. Ability to function effectively in fast paced, dynamic environment. Experience with project financial planning and control. Experience with validation and/or SDLC testing is preferred. Experience leading technical teams, covering full life cycle of requirements, solution selection, design, implementation, training, and production support.
