Three good questions to ask yourself about your career, whether you're in job
search mode, employed, underemployed, or undecided.

WARNING: Google resume scam
Posted by: "Ron Katz" ronhrkatz@yahoo.com ronhrkatz
Mon Aug 23, 2010 2:54 pm (PDT)
Please be aware that there is someone else preying on job seekers. Below is the
text of a message that was received by someone I know very well. This person
never applied to Google for a job, in fact she is not looking at all right now.
But this is what she got. I have not forwarded the attachment that came with
the message.
Begin forwarded message:
This is what I just got from resume-thanks@google.com with subject line: Thank
you from Google
The top of the message was the Google logo (which can be cut and pasted from the
Google page) It also included a zip file attachment named CV-20100120-112
We just received your resume and would like to thank you for your interest in
working at Google. This email confirms that your application has been submitted
for an open position.
Our staffing team will carefully assess your qualifications for the role(s) you
selected and others that may be a fit. Should there be a suitable match, we
will be sure to get in touch with you.
Click on the attached file to review your submitted application.
Have fun and thanks again for applying to Google!
Google Staffing
End forwarded message
Needless to say one should never click on any link or attachment in a message
unless you are certain of the identity of the sender. I have to add that people
who prey on job-seekers and their desperation are the lowest of the low. They
are the stuff that slugs wipe off the bottom of their shoes. If slugs wore
shoes.
Only the best,
Ron

Hi Ron:
Thanks for the warning, it is most appreciated. I have to agree with you, those people who prey on individuals in transition are the lowest of the low.
Thanks again for the heads-up.
