GENERAL: MS PMP Free Education for Essex Cty residents
Posted by: "john sampson" jcsspike@yahoo.com jcsspike
Thu Feb 17, 2011 3:07 pm (PST)
John,
Hope all is well with Pat and yourself.
To follow-up on my call from earlier this afternoon. An acquaintance of mine mentioned that his organization had bid on and won an RFP from Essex County to provide PM training for currently unemployed Essex County residents, who are IT / Project Management qualified, but who are not PMP's. This course is for 490 hours. Until earlier today I thought the class was totally a PMP training class, but I've found out that the class has the following components:
===================== ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ====
The overall program runs for 490 Hours which includes
a) Project Management Training towards Project Management Professional (PMP®) Certification. Students will earn 35 Contact Hours or Professional Development Units (PDU's)
b) Microsoft Project
c) Microsoft Excel-Intermediate to Advance level
d) Microsoft Visio
e) Microsoft PowerPoint
Once they are certified we will assist the students in job placement through our job placement division.
===================== ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ====
To me it sounds like a course that the PM component is an intro to PM course with the majority of the course being Microsoft based. He is looking for approximately 10 individuals for an April class. Some additional information:
a) This course is for anyone and not reserved for any particular race or ethnicity.
b) They should be unemployed and from Essex County.
c) Next class is scheduled to tentatively start on 04/18/2011. The schedule is from Monday through Thursday starting at 10 AM and ending by 3PM.
d) It will be one time offer for taking the training as well as PMP® Certification and no remedial course.
e) The only out of pocket expenses are if they commute by train. They would have to take a train to Metro Park and then take bus route number 801 to JFK Hospital and walk a block to our school.
f) Our instructors are PMP® Certified with good Industrial and teaching experience.
===================== ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= ========= =====
If you 're interested in following up, please give me a call at 609-406-5956 (W) or 732-270-1972 (H) or 732-740-3426 (C) to discuss.
