Pace University Chief Information Officer Pace University is an independent, comprehensive Doctoral Research University located on three degree campuses in New York City and Westchester County. Pace offers over 200 majors and more than 3,000 courses of study to nearly 13,000 undergraduate and graduate students in six colleges and schools -- Business, Computer Science and Information Systems, Education, Liberal Arts and Sciences, Law and Nursing. The Chief Information Officer (CIO) provides vision and leadership for the strategic development and management of information, information resources, and technology to support Pace's mission, strategic goals, and academic program priorities. Reporting to the Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, the CIO is responsible for maintaining an integrated, efficient, sustainable, and responsive program of information technology and infrastructure support services for academic, research and administrative computing, distributed education including asynchronous courses, intercampus communication service, telecommunications, system-wide networking services, and security. To be successful in this role, the CIO must possess outstanding leadership qualities, vision, and strategic ability along with a strong commitment to service and accountability. In addition to exceptional technical skills and management abilities, the CIO must have a passion for educational technology, deep interest in building strong relationships with faculty and students, the ability to develop and mentor staff, superior interpersonal and communication skills, a collaborative and flexible decision-making style, and the ability to lead organizational change. Candidates must possess a master's or terminal degree in an appropriate discipline (doctorate preferred), at least seven years of progressive information technology management experience in a complex organization serving multiple constituencies; a broad knowledge of networking, data warehousing, business intelligence, information security, instructional systems, telecommunications, administrative systems (Banner System experience preferred), enterprise reporting, web technologies and user support services; the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with all campus constituents to ensure that ITS's efforts are aligned with and support the University's strategic initiatives and goals. Individuals must demonstrate a track record of building a strong team culture within an IT organization while creating an environment of customer service and support.
