[itroundtable] LEAD: Sharepoint VP - NYC? - to 140k +

 

Primarily responsibilities for this position includes providing expert technical support and guidance for the implementation of content authoring and aggregation solutions based on SharePoint as well as support of core architecture, site topology design and systems governance as it applies to SharePoint. Qualified candidates must have 7+ years of experience which include a history of developing SharePoint strategies and delivering concrete implementations that include global distributed farms architecture and integration with and consumption of external data sources.

* As an architect and hands-on developer you will be expected to take on an active role in delivering against application requirements and as a valuable team member, you will be required to be a creative and independent thinker.

* Work in a globally dispersed team (USA and India) to deliver application functionality. Coordinating and collaborating with other development leads and resources across on-shore and off-shore teams to deliver software on time and within budget.

* Estimation of development effort for new requirements.

* Providing feedback and technical guidance to project and development managers on issues of critical importance to achieving business objectives.

* Providing strategic technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives.

* Ensuring application performance, scalability and resiliency via deep technical expertise and ongoing interaction with architecture, infrastructure and performance-tuning authorities.

* Administering a global distributed web farm.

* Communicating frequently with key stakeholders − including the technology and business management teams in Research Technology, Research Operations and Infrastructure groups − re: platform strategy, system architecture, application development and production support.

* Defines and evaluates problems and plans effective solutions.

Key Selection Criteria


The Developer must:

* 7+ years of development experience with 5-7 years of professional experience within the financial services industry, with most of this time focused on the analysis, design, development, testing and production support of Microsoft SharePoint and .net, finance-oriented applications.

* A bachelor's and/or master's degree in computer science or related field is highly desirable.

* Possess 5-7 years of strong "Hands-On" development skills using Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS), SharePoint Server 2010, ASP.Net, C#, MS SQL Server 2005(8), XML, Web Services technologies.

* Solid experience and deep understanding of SharePoint Platform Architecture and Administration.

* Understanding of Active Directory and Role-based Security Models.

* Experience with SharePoint migration a big plus.

* Expert level knowledge and understanding of C#, XML and XSL technologies including XML Serialization is highly desirable.

* Possess strong working knowledge of Visual studio 2008 and TFS source code repository.

* Possess strong server administration skills with Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, IIS6.0 and IIS 7.0 Be conversant with Unit testing and Continuous integration

* Possess strong Application and Design experience using UML. In-depth experience and expertise in Object-Oriented Analysis and Design, Design Patterns, Application Frameworks (AJAX, MVC, Silver light, Flex etc.).

* Experience in the delivering of large scale, complex enterprise technology projects is a must.

* Be conversant with enterprise search technologies such as those offered by FAST.

* Able to independently to architect solutions, lead code reviews and ensure quality throughout the life of each project.

* Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, analytical and organizational skills.

* Aptly manage day-to-day interactions and relationships with a diverse group of colleagues.

* Put people at ease when necessary and instill a high degree of trust quickly and genuinely.

* Strong abilities to discern weak points in complex systems and recommend improvements.

* Proven track record of delivering high quality software and systems utilizing global resources and delivery capabilities.

* Able to independently architect solutions, lead code reviews and ensure quality throughout the life of each project.

* Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, analytical and organizational skills.

* Put people at ease when necessary and instill a high degree of trust quickly and genuinely.
