Established in 1888, Bayonne Medical Center is a 278-bed, fully accredited,

Department Position Description Requirements
HEALTH INFORMATION SERVICES Half-time Outpatient
Coding Specialist

20hr per week,
8am-12noon MAIN FUNCTIONS:
* Assigns ICD-9 and CPT-4 codes to medical records, using clinical
knowledge to determine anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.

* Data-enters code into computerized medical center reimbursement
system.

EDUCATION:
* High School diploma req.
* 1+ years post high school education in medical/clinical field req.

LICENSURE:
CCA, CCS, or RHIT req. within 6 months of hire date.

EXPERIENCE:
1+ years experience in medical/clinical environment.
