Company Description:
We are working with a dynamic company in the Burlington, MA area looking to fill a Director of Technology Infrastructure. This company has large amounts of transactions taking place and needs 24x7 up time.
Job Description:
In this role, you will manage a team and will be a "hands-on" leader as well as a technology visionary. You will be thinking about new technology all of the time in order to consistently keep your company ahead of the curve. This is a critical role for the company's success, and you will have a seat at the management table alongside seasoned web executives who are running this company.
• Support heavily visited website that has large amounts of transactions
• Responsible for the design and deployment of the production databases, network, servers, appliances and 3rd party applications to support a 24x7 highly available site with disaster recovery
• Overall responsibility for the staff and functional management for the areas of Network, Database and Systems administration as well as Network Operations and Security
• Implement all policies and procedures required to support 24x7 operations
• Budgetary responsibilities
Qualifications:
• 10+ years of strong data center operations and/or hosted service delivery experience to include network and server infrastructure design, build, implementation and management of critical applications and people management experience
• Technology experience with a wide variety of switches, firewalls, load balancers, operating systems (Windows, Linux), and hosting applications, F5, Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, EMC SAN.
o Understanding and practical experience with network security design, implementation and security policies
o Experience with corporate systems:
 E-mail
 File/Printer Sharing
 Desktop Lifecycle Mgmt, Peripherals
 A/V – Conference Rooms, Company Meeting Support, Live Broadcast
 PBX configuration and management
 Systems Integration – disparate and evolving system linkage required for seamless business workflow practices
• Data Analysis – Proven experience in root cause analysis, dashboard management, and the establishment of key performance indicators.
• Financial Management – Proven experience managing the acquisition of equipment and services, with a critical eye toward cost management.
• Reporting – Proven experience generating appropriate reports and distributing to various business units based on day to day activities and new initiatives.
• Procurement Administration – Experience managing a technology and service acquisition/management function.
• Functional/Cross Functional/Peer Influencing Leadership – Experience and examples of management by influence, diverting/directing resources both functionally and non-functionally based on business priority.
• Business Process Leadership – Experience creating and evolving functional practices around business processes. Ability to document technical environments, processes and procedures and project plans
• Vendor Management – Proven experience managing successful vendor relationships with examples of creativity and thoughtful process and/or personnel extension.
• Equipment - Proven ability to monitor and maintain production operations equipment and services
• Accountability and Teamwork - Demonstrates a high degree of accountability, teamwork, adaptability and exercising of sound judgment, decisiveness and creativity.
