Infrastructure Technologies comprises the management and provisioning of
the Group's infrastructure technologies. This includes responsibility for
provisioning, support and refresh, across end-user, distributed, network,
core, and middleware technologies respectively.
*Main Duties*
Individual will be responsible for architecting a consolidated Micro Focus
platform hosting business critical applications for multiple Barclays
Capital business areas such as Wealth, Prime and Cross Products/Reference
Data.
Barclays runs mission critical batch and online systems on Micro Focus
Enterprise Server running on windows 2003 platform.
The candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing and
maintaining the consolidated Micro Focus environment with focus on
isolation, automation and performance tuning.
Develop the plan for ongoing support and management of the Micro Focus
platform at Barclays Capital.
Manage the relationship between vendors and any vendor consultants working
on the project.
Creation and implementation of a strategy for the Micro Focus platform
space to improve resiliency and management, including monitoring, storage
management (SAN & NAS), interact with IT staff or vendors in testing,
operational support and troubleshooting of complex system hardware and
software problems.
Implement disaster recovery processes and procedures.
Performance tuning of servers and related systems.
Act as a technical resource to the IT staff and systems users. Develop,
communicate, and monitor the operational standards and procedures for the
MS Windows based system.
Perform all routine administrative and operational tasks.
*Person Requirements
Basic Qualifications*
B.S. degree or equivalent in a Computer Science related field.
5 years + experience of distributed computing platform (Windows Operating
System and Unix/Linux)
*Preferred Qualifications*
A background in Micro Focus, Mainframe Systems programming, development,
CICS preferred
Good Powershell and/or Perl scripting desirable, development background
with ASP.NET/C# preferred
Keen troubleshooting and problem solving ability (i.e. parsing event log,
sysinternal tools, analyzing memory dumps etc)
Technical understanding of windows infrastructure services (e.g. AD, ADAM,
GPO, CIFS, DFS, windows clustering etc) within the enterprise.
Understanding of SAN/NAS technologies.
Understanding of schedulers such as autosys.
Familiarity with middleware and tools such as MQ Series/JMS, Syncsort, ETL.
Active directory and good understanding of authentication and authorization
system.
Experience engineering, managing and supporting large complex shared
environment with proper isolation for individual business
Must be able to work effectively with client and other systems technical
staff, consultants and vendors. Demonstrated leadership to grow and develop
other people.
Self-driven, creative, and highly motivated with ability to think on their
feet.
Excellent communication skills (including strong written and spoken English)

I have won a consulting project contract with State Farm Insurance, and need to hire about 30 consultants for the project. I'm attaching the position description. If you know any folks who would like a shot at one of the positions please have them send their resume to Marc Zamora at Ocean Consulting, directly at the email listed below.
They will need to spend about 4 days a week in Bloomington, Ill. I can discuss with them the compensation. There is an initial 2 week training we conduct remotely before the "on-site" start date. Depending on how quickly the associate grasps "our methodology" and practices, also depending on the client need, schedules become more flexible as the resource gets acclimated. Our golden rule is "always keep the client happy at all costs" so discretion regarding face time is applied on a case by case basis. I would count on being on site 5 days a week for the first month and for work permitting. You are expected to log at least 40 hrs in a 5 day work week. MOST of our team lives either in Chicago or out of state. Very few of us reside in Bloomington. I'll be glad to answer any other questions you have. My ability to speak via phone during working hours is limited as I am on site with the client. But feel free to reach out any time and I will try to return your call at breaks.
Candidates do no need to be in anyone location but able to travel to Bloomington, IL.

Our client, a Fortune 100, US technology Conglomerate, is expanding their Carrier Team due to success and growth. They are currently looking for a Director of Sales, specializing in network security, selling within the service provider market place. The position offers a comp ranging from $260K+ depending on experience. The position to be located ideally NJ or Virginia.
In this role, the Sales Director will be responsible for driving sales opportunities and managing most important telecommunications customers.
The Sales Director responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
§ Conducting sales presentations and demonstrations for existing and potential customers as well as partners.
§ Management of the customer relationship with all targeted opportunities and prospects during the sales process. This includes maintaining relationship with contacts within the customer and channel partner, keeping account information up to date in CRM system, and attendance at all sales and management meetings regarding the customer.
§ Consulting with clients and operations teams on specific new system features and technical requirements.
§ Communicating and collaborating with product and other technical resources to meet customer and sales goals.
§ Coordinating the response to RFP/RFI/RFQs.

Required Skills and Experience
Previous Sales experience (seeking 5-10 years minimum) for a systems supplier, defense contractor, data network vendor, service provider or network security company including both presentation and hands-on channel/account management responsibilities:
§ Proven track record of selling and consulting with data communications customers in their pursuit of system solutions
§ Strong consultative and solution sales skills are crucial for success in this customer environment
§ Broad understanding of network topologies, equipment and protocol analysis is helpful
§ Previous experience successfully responding to RFIs, RFPs, RFQs to telecom customers and/or data service/hosting providers
§ Excellent communication skills and familiarity with computer tools, such as MS Powerpoint, Salesforce.com, Excel, MS Word.
§ Strong network carrier security and packet analytic experience is desirable
