Project Description:
Our direct client in NYC seeks a Business Analyst with a strong background in Property & Casualty Insurance. Candidates that has worked with various different internal departments such as underwriting, finance, accounting, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and timely information to all external and internal stakeholders.
- Utilize best practice requirements-gathering techniques to elicit, analyze and document requirements
- Perform gap and impact analysis between current and desired state.
- Create best-practice requirements deliverables, such as use cases, system process flows and context diagrams
- Provide solution alternatives and recommendations
- Ensure the requirements accurately and sufficiently describe business needs and have been translated to technically efficient and effective requirements.
- Advise business partners on the technical implications of business requirements.
- Define and apply standards and quality criteria to ensure consistency and a full audit trail of work.
- Work with team members to ensure business and functional requirements are well understood and documented.
- Collaborate closely with IT developers and quality assurance staff to ensure that requirements are clearly defined and understood, and supported by solution outputs.
- Review and sign off on technical designs and their ability to meet business needs.
Required Skills:
- Coveriq preferred
- Background in Property & Casualty Insurance in required.
- 5 years plus of experience in a business systems analysis role
- Ability to translate user requirements into functional system requirements
- Ability to analyze, define, and specify customer requirements
- Experience working in a demanding, fast paced environment
- Relationship building skills
- Problem solving skills
- Documentation and report writing skills
- Knowledge of industry best practices associated with business analysis and governance
- Ability to engage with business representatives and communicate in a structured manner
- Ability to identify key areas of risk and complexity
