Position Responsibilities Summary
The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the Market
Data Services infrastructure and will report to the Manager of Market Data
Services. This position will work closely with vendors and IS teams as
required to identify and resolve technical problems and complete strategic
infrastructure initiatives associated with the Market Data Services
infrastructure. This position will be located in Boston with regular
presence in Marlborough, Massachusetts.
Responsibilities Detailed:
· Responsible for analyzing information requirements and developing
recommendations for services at a firm-wide system level.
· Works with line management on projects and business initiatives
· Ability to work effectively with more Senior Systems staff on the
implementation and delivery of financial information and services to the
firm, including internal proprietary products
· Provides training regarding systems and application use to
business areas
· Develops recommendations to meet specific needs
· Provide tactical management and support of the vendor networks and
servers associated with our Market Data Services infrastructure
· Document environments, migration plans, and installation
procedures
· Design and implementation high impact mission critical projects
· Manage internal client needs and expectations ensuring issues are
identified, resolved, and escalated quickly and appropriately
· Engineer, install, configure, and maintain the organization's
Market Data environment
· Analyze problems, identify the cause of problems, and implement
timely solutions
· Interacts with outside service providers regarding problems and
maintenance procedures
· Share 24x7 on-call support responsibilities
Keys to This Position:
1. The ideal candidate will have 5 plus years of Market Data or Trading
Support experience. This individual will work directly with Market Data
vendors. Therefore, Vendor Relationship experience is highly desired.
2. Market Data knowledge: Thomson Reuters, Bloomberg, Factset, etc.
3. Technical knowledge: Unix, Linux, Windows, TCP/IP
4. Sources: We would like to see candidates with experience either from
other Asset Managers (SSGA, MFS, GMO, Fidelity, Putnam, etc.) or Market Data
Vendors (Thomson Reuters, Bloomberg, etc.)
5. We will consider either a Core (non senior) or Senior level candidate.
Required Skills and Competencies:
· A solid understanding and deep appreciation of Market Data
Services products, systems, and networking are required. The successful
candidate must bring a successful track record of building strong
relationships with clients and vendors. Strong working knowledge and hands
on experience with Unix, market data service products, vendor services,
TCP/IP, routers, and network switches is required. Previous project
management experience is required. A Bachelor degree in Computer Science or
related discipline and 3+ years related experience in the financial services
industry is a must.

As a member of the IT group, this position will play a key role in the
support of the portfolio accounting and other investment operations systems.
