Perm or contract position

Position Summary:

Our client is seeking Senior Java/Flex Developers who will work closely with
business to perform system analysis and design using structured development
techniques.

Essential Duties:

* Have a firm understanding of the company's business model and
processes in order to improve upon our current systems. Work independently
with little supervision to enhance current software tools.

* Assist in the monitoring of production databases, servers and Web
Site.

* Develop applications using tools such as T-SQL, Java, Hibernate and
Adobe Flash/Flex.

* Develop well-structured code following company standards. Ability
to communicate technical aspects of coding to business and project
management.

* Assist Junior Programmers and Programmer/Analysts in meeting project
schedules by giving direction and constructive feedback. Aid junior
programmers in overcoming programming difficulties.

Skills and Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with five years IT related experience.

* 3 + years experience coding using Adobe Flash/Flex, Java, Hibernate
or similar visual development tools.

* 3 + years experience writing stored procedures for SQL server using
T-SQL Understanding of XML, including import/exporting to SQL data
structures.

* Understanding of Apache, JBOSS and Microsoft's Internet Information
Services (IIS).

* Should be skilled in project management techniques and system
development life cycle methodologies.

* Expertise in relational database design and data normalization.

* Advanced skill level with Microsoft Office including Excel and Word
VBA

* Able to document process flow diagrams, functional vs.
non-functional specifications, and database relational models

* Ability to excel in a team model environment and work multiple
projects simultaneously.

* Must be able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing and
possess excellent documentation skills.

experience.

Required Skills and Experience:

. Working knowledge of Object Oriented Principles using Java/J2EE on
Linux (Redhat or Debian)

. Thorough understanding of segmentation faults and being able to
debug coredumps on Linux

. Understanding of multi-thread programming and causes and
resolutions for deadlocks and race conditions in an enterprise application

. Being able to attach/detach to remotely executing applications to
debug an issue

. Able to configure and optimize an application performance with
respect to OS, memory and application server (JBoss)

. Able to identify and resolve memory leaks in an enterprise Java
application running under JBoss
