Jobseeker Special: Killer Interviews for Recent College Grads
Thursday, Jun 7, 2012 9:30 AM- 12:00 PM
Your first post-college interview is all about being perceived**as an
exceptional**candidate. If this doesn't happen, you are not likely to
get the job you want.
*Mel Sorcher*, organizational psychologist and author of /Beat the Odds
Interviews/ will lead this highly participatory training session. Open
to 2011 and 2012 graduates of 4-year colleges. Advance registration
required <http://www.eventbrite.com/event/ >.3191526943
Each year, hundreds of thousands of young men and women are graduated
from college and begin the long and frustrating search for the right
first post-college job. These interviews cause a lot of anxiety because
too many young people are not even marginally prepared to engage in an
exchange of information with an interviewer in a way that will make them
stand out and result in attractive job offers. Consequently, and
regrettably, they "settle."
Even highly qualified candidates are rejected when interviewers are
incompetent at the task of evaluating an individual's potential to
perform or contribute in an organization. Many interviewers simply
cannot be trusted to come to the right conclusion about a candidate.
Interviewing is essentially a predictive process and the problem is
compounded by job candidates who are not prepared to engage effectively
in a discussion that communicates their abilities and promise.
This seminar gives you practice in a method which is entirely different
from traditional ways to prepare for job interviews. If you follow it,
you probably will have a much higher rate of job offers than you would
ordinarily expect. You will beat the odds in competition for a
desirable job.
