Princeton Information is seeking a Data Architect/Data Modeling resource for the following - • Design and build database structure and objects that best support operational and analytics application o Assess and analyze data requirements for applications and/or problems o Translate data requirements into database structures for optimal performance and availability o Implement, test and debug physical database objects for performance and troubleshooting • Design and implement optimal star and snowflake schema in the database • Communicate and collaborate with team members and management on the designed database structures and schemas o Write and present eloquently with the appropriate audience perspective in mind • Support troubleshooting of production issues of existing application as warranted • Participate in collaborative discussions with team members to monitor progress against enhancement queue and bug resolution. • Stay proactive in identifying potential risks/issues due to the overall application design and make recommendations for improvements • Design and implement highly available and scalable architecture for database environment and its required SLAs • Develop and implement strategies for data partitioning to support applications' scalability and availability needs • Develop and implement strategies for data federation, replication and virtualization • Develop and implement strategies for data archival and recovery (for both primary and remote sites) • Ensure alignment of objects design with the enterprise defined data governance and architecture principles • Support the specification and construction of the designed objects to completed solution • Research and select appropriate database technology and tools for effective management and troubleshooting • Define and develop reusable database strategies to be leveraged across enterprise database management systems • Continue to expand the knowledge and specialization in the evolving database technology and architecture • Drive design of data structures within an ODS/EDW environment (all layers) • Create Conceptual/Logical/Physical models for EDW staging, data integration, and reporting. • Conduct Model reviews with project team members; • Publish and communicate models to various IT and business-based teams, explaining how the model meets Use Cases. • Drive metadata capture through data modeling application (Erwin) and maintain the repository and exchange of metadata through the various tools • Promote and follow Enterprise Architecture standards, guidelines, and best practices around EDW data modeling efforts • Develop data movement requirements/technical specifications into and across EDW layers • Collaborate with Solution Architect and BI team to create data structures that facilitate data integration and meet/exceed reporting and analytical requirements. • Perform SQL optimization and tuning Position Requirements: Core Competency: • Excellent oral & written communication skills; Proficient with SDLC • Self motivated, goal oriented, and organized; team player; works independently with self prioritization of activities to support organization objectives • Demonstrated analytical and strong innovative ability with wide implementation skills; Good technical and problem solving skills • Project management responsibilities include identifying the scope of assigned projects, generating solutions to technical issues, and providing deliverables in a timely and efficient manner. Technology : • Oracle 11g/10g RAC; Oracle Partitioning, Oracle OLAP, Star Schema configuration, Materialized views, • Working knowledge of warehouse Oracle functions (e.g. Rollup etc.), Star Schema design using Bitmap indexes is a must • Operating Systems- AIX, Solaris, RedHat Linux • Data Virtualization/Federation technology – preferably MetaMatrix • 10+ years experience as a Data Architect/Data Designer in a Global Enterprise – preferably in financial industry and 3+ years experience in a team lead role • Good understanding of design principles of master data management, operational stores, data marts, datawarehouse system
