Technical Support Specialist
Position Overview
This position provides technical leadership in one or more IT disciplines that support the organization's technical infrastructure. This may include network hardware and software, data architectures, operating systems, servers, desktop and/or peripherals. The position contributes to technical standards and typically leads project in their area of expertise and/or consults to project teams as a technical lead. The position exists to provide 24x7 operational monitoring, first and second level troubleshooting, and resolution coordination for open systems technology.
* Lead the analysis and documentation of customer business requirements to ensure a thorough understanding of business needs. Assess the ability of their technology to support new and future requirements. Identify modifications needed to meet business needs.
* Monitor the performance of installed technology, performing required maintenance, upgrades and tuning to optimize performance. Identify any resulting impacts on other technologies.
* Maintain an awareness of new developments in their area of technical expertise
* Provide technical leadership to project teams
* Provide leadership in infrastructure planning for their area of expertise
* Propose/develop new technical standards and develop migration plans to the future technology infrastructure
* Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for installed technical solutions
* Provide guidance and technical coaching to more junior developers
* May act as a lead for key components of a project
* Works to support projects as required. Consults to other professionals in IT, such as development teams, in own area of expertise
Communications Skills
* Courteous and tactful at all times with customers and IT Colleagues
* Effectively probes customers to determine the actual nature, or underlying cause of a problem
* Ability to share technical knowledge with customer in a clear and concise way (written or oral)
* Maintains a network of contacts that can be leveraged to solve problems that may arise
Customer Role
* Services needs of customer from beginning to end (e.g. answer phones calls, offer alternatives, answer questions, follow up)
* Communicates and manages expectations in a responsive manner
* Gathers and responds to feedback within the department and from the customer
Decision Making
* At times, functions independently with limited work direction
* May make work assignments and determine the direction work should take, following best practices
* Ability to problem solve in response to crisis situations and make decisions that may fall outside one's personal area of expertise
* Reports on project progress
* Escalates any problems, as appropriate, to the project manager
* Maintains awareness of team milestones
* Interdependent Decision Making
Business Knowledge
* Understands the business impacts of different solutions, and can assess the tradeoffs between business needs, technology requirements, and costs
Problem Solving
Leads internal infrastructure projects. With minimal supervision, this position would analyze vendor proposals, evaluate build versus buy, formulate the project plan, establish the critical path, coordinate vendors, build and conduct tests, and track project
progress.
Education:
* Technical training or experience and at 8 years supporting hardware, operating systems and software
* Obtained Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE/ MCITP) status, or has equivalent knowledge and experience
Experience:
* 4 or more years' experience working in a Win-Intel server environment
* Understands architectural issues, and factors them into decisions and recommendations
* Installs and supports complex technical system environments such as Internet Information Server, Windows Terminal Server, Citrix , VMware and strong SCCM
* MCSE/MCITP status with other specialty certification

Title: JD Edwards Financials Techno-Functional Analyst

Overview
Our client is seeking a mid-level JD Edwards Financials Techno-Functional
Analyst to help with the analysis, design, configuration and deployment of
implementation projects for Manufacturing, Finance, Customer Service,
Procurement, Distribution and Logistics using JDE tools. The Analyst will
identify and assess business system needs to create logical solutions using
JDE applications, create functional and technical designs, configure and
test the JDE software applications to ensure that the systems can be
effectively developed and implemented to meet the actual business needs. The
individual will develop and execute test scenarios for application logic,
user interfaces, data interfaces and reports.
Skills and Experience:
* Bachelors Degree in business or information technology field.
* 3+ years working with JD Edwards Enterprise 1 or One World 8.9 or
higher business systems with emphasis on Financials and interfaces.
. Experience is required with these JDE Financial modules; Budgeting
& Forecasting, AAIs and DMAAIs, ACA (Advanced Cost Accounting) setup &
configurations, Manufacturing Accounting & Financial Accounting;
. Must have experience using JDE tools including OMW, Data
Dictionary, Form Design and Report Writing, Enterprise Business Software
* 3+ years' experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar roles
with strengths in gathering requirements and related business issues,
configuration and testing.
. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot/
detailed documentation in accordance with SOX requirements.
* Experience with any JD Edwards upgrade(s) or implementation(
plus.
* Project Management standards knowledge is a plus
