Systems Administrator Engineer
*Primary Job Responsibilities *
As a member of the Systems Engineering team you will help design and
implement infrastructure components and elegant holistic system solutions
to support the current and future set of ebay applications. Become a
subject matter expert of the architecture and operation for both custom
in-house and commercial application suites. Make recommendations especially
with regard to best practices, high availability and disaster recovery
scenarios. Provide level-three support to triage real world E-Commerce
production issues.
Work alongside with a wide variety of departments including Production
Operations, Networking, Database, Storage, and Development teams. Provide
guidance with regard to production operational and administrative concerns
during the planning and design phases as well as capacity planning and
multi-datacenter complications. Architect, build and deploy solutions that
resolve complex issues using a wide variety of hardware and virtualization
technologies. Configure hardware and software technologies out of the box,
such as blades and load balancers, with large-scale deployments.
This position requires the ability to dig deep into technology issues, both
hardware and software, research and supply or create solutions, document
clear sets of consistent processes and procedures for teams to follow, and
share your knowledge with team members in a learning environment.
*Required Skills *
Detailed Systems Administrator experience with Linux kernel based
Operating Systems in particular RedHat Enterprise Linux versions 3 to 6.
Fluent in scripting languages such as BASH and PERL
Experience with Xen technologies such as Citrix XenServer, OpenXen and
Oracle Virtual Machine
Clustering technologies, shared file systems, and volume management
NFS, DNS, FTP, LDAP services and load balancers in medium scale
infrastructures
Multi-tier architecture designs using web servers, applications and
databases
Be able to evaluate new technologies and how they can benefit ebay
Ability to communicate effectively and interact with diverse
personalities
Be able to work independently but share knowledge with others and work on
group projects
Ability to see the entire picture of a project and all components and
systems it will touch but be able to think outside the box for providing
solutions to simplify designs and increase stability and ease
administrative costs
*Desired Skills *
ISCSI experience and SAN or FC backgrounds with EMC and Hitachi storage
arrays
Content Delivery Systems such as Akamai
Oracle 10 and 11 RAC DB OS support (understanding and configuring ASM,
Private interconnects, etc)
Capacity planning
Apache virtual hosting and complex re-write rule
Experience with HP hardware DL servers and BL blades and datacenter
server deployment and layout
Ability to troubleshoot firmware and driver issues
Traditional programming background in a high and low level languages
Understanding of TCP dumps and stack traces.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities include:
* Develop and implement a planning process and strategic plan for Nike
* Contribute to revenue, contribution, and volume goals for Nike
* Utilize engineering and logistics skills and experience to design and implement key performance indicators
* Manage, indirectly, customer service levels and ensure customer satisfaction
* Maintain and grow existing relationships with Nike
* Develop and maintain a management and communication process to create standardization of business planning, strategy planning, and the performance of Nike
* Ensure partnerships with Customer Service, IT, and Engineering units to assess, build, enhance, and implement technology solutions that add value for Nike
* Collaborate with Director of Strategic Accounts on account strategy, financial performance, and service level monitoring

REQUIREMENTS
* 5 plus years working in international logistics in a retail environment
* 3 plus years in account management
* Knowledge of e-commerce, supply chain, and distribution strategies
* Experience working with SAP
* Demonstrated experience with reducing overall product lead time to market
* Comprehensive knowledge of the international supply chain management industry, including technology, competitors, and services
* Experience in designing, selling, and implementing integrated supply chain management solutions
* Proven ability to indirectly lead extended global teams across a variety of business/service critical requirements
* Strong project management skills
* Strong presentation, facilitation, and consultation skills
* Must be able to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds
