Description:
Position is for a senior database application DBA/Infrastructure architect on the OTCDB database team.OTCDB is the renovation project to process and capture OTC exotic derivatives trades which will also include Equity Swaps. OTCdB is the golden source for Equity OTC products and manages all lifecycle events of the OTC trade. Work will include designing, enhancing and developing the DB2 Linux database for future releases of the project. This database is a transactional database that requires optimal performance. The job will involve all aspects of the project life cycle and includes designing, coding, , implementing, deploying, and continued support of project releases.

Major Roles & Responsibilities:
• Database Infrastructure Engineering for stability and scalability, capacity planning
• Application DBA functions: plan & execute database schema changes, bottlenecks analysis, outage prevention/resoluti
• OTCdB Database design, development (stored procedures, load, tools, ...), queries/stored procedures review and optimization
• Enforce database security, standards & guidelines
• Develop and review complex stored procedures
• Conduct performance analysis for newly added/changed database objects
• Impact Assessment of database changes

Required Knowledge:
• At least 3 years experience in DB2 Linux relational database work and have exceptional hands-on application DBA skills.
• DB2 Linux version 9.1 and above (SQL, tables, plan explains, MQTs, Partitioning, ... )
• The candidate must:
-- Be familiar with Erwin or some similar modeling tool
-- Be familiar with scripting language such as Perl and Unix / K-Shell
-- have strong knowledge base of relational database performance and tuning such as: Proper use of indices, database statistics/reorgs, de-normalization concepts, …
* Personal skills: Integrity & ownership, good team player, ability to work under time and resource dependencies and constraints, ability to find simple and effective solutions, high degree of motivation to expand technical and business knowledge.
• Communications skills are important as the candidate will need to work with other internal/external developers who will be accessing the databases and have change requests.

• The knowledge of DB2 9.7, Native XML/XQuery, Visual Explain, Developer's Work Bench and DBArtisan is a plus.
• Knowledge of other relational databases such as Sybase is a plus
• Versioning tools such as perforce, etc.. is a nice to have
