What are we looking for?
We are seeking candidates for a Junior DBA with 3 plus years of database and application support experience in a financial services environment. If you are extremely smart, analytical, good with people, motivated, technology savvy and a team player we would like to hear from you.
The position involves supporting clients on various online application platforms, working with data providers to setup data feeds, running ETL processes, diagnosing issues with missing or incomplete data, and working with business consultants to define priorities and provide status. Candidates should possess a willingness to take ownership of projects and collaborate with clients and business teams on feature requests and issue resolution.
Qualifications:
* Experience setting up data feeds and handling large data files
* Minimum 3-years experience with SQL, ETL tools, and Oracle Data-Handling Utilities (SqlLoader, DataPump and SqlPlus)
* Intermediate Linux experience, including shell scripting
* Proven ability to support users on various software application platforms and provide with quick problem resolution
* Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
* Experience working in financial and management consulting industries
* Organized, detail oriented and articulate
* Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

The position involves administration and maintenance of Oracle and DB2 databases, participation in the design and development of online financial and marketing applications and the management of highly-available and highly-scalable production database environments. Candidates should possess a willingness to take ownership of projects and collaborate with clients and business teams on feature requests and issue resolution.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
* 8+ years experience in database development including PL/SQL, stored procedures, OLAP tools and Shell scripts
* 8+ years experience in database administration tasks including database schema management, database back-ups and restores, database security packages and user management
* 4+ years experience administrating and coding in DB2 database
* Previous experience in a highly available web production environment
* Experience designing and optimizing logical and physical data models
* Experience working in financial and management consulting industries
* Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
Please note that you will be considered for this position only if you have proven working experience with Oracle.
Experience with these technologies a plus:
* RAC/10G database cluster
* Websphere application servers and Java
* Data Warehousing technology, methodologies and design
* BI platforms
* MS SQL Server and Transact SQL
